Father José Miguel here chanting the Medieval Sequence of Easter, Victimæ Paschali Laudes accompanied by our young and talented organist, Ramón Villoria Blanco.
{Latin}
Víctimæ Pascháli laudes
ímmolent Chrístiani.
Agnus rédemit oves:
Christus ínnocens Patri
reconciliávit peccátores.
Mors et vita duéllo
conflixére mirándo:
dux vitae mórtuus,
regnat vivus.
Dic nobis Maria,
quid vídisti in via?
Sepúlcrum Christi vivéntis,
et glóriam vidi resúrgentis:
Angélicos testes,
sudárium, et vestes.
Surréxit Christus spes mea:
praecédet suos in Galilæam.
Scimus Christum surrexísse
a mórtuis vere:
Tu nobis, victor Rex, miserére.
Amen. Alleluia.
{English}
Christians! to the Paschal Victim offer your thankful praises.
The Lamb the sheep redeemeth: Christ, who only is sinless, reconcileth sinners to the Father.
Death and life contended in that conflict stupendous: the Prince of Life, who died, deathless reigneth.
Speak, Mary, declaring what thou sawest wayfaring.
“The tomb of Christ who now liveth: the glory of the Risen.”
Bright Angels attesting, the shroud and napkin resting.
Yea, Christ my hope is arisen: to Galilee He goeth before you.”
We know that Christ is risen, henceforth ever living: Have mercy, Victor King, pardon giving.
Amen. Alleluia.
{Castellano}
ahora reina vivo.
Dinos, María, ¿qué has visto en el camino?
Vi el sepulcro de Cristo viviente,
y la gloria del que resucitó.
Vi por testigos a los ángeles;
y vi su sudario y sus vestidos.
Resucitó Cristo, mi esperanza;
precederá a los suyos en Galilea.
Sabemos que Cristo verdaderamente
resucitó de entre los muertos:
Y por lo tanto, Tú, Rey victorioso,
ten misericordia de nosotros.
Amen. Aleluya.
A most blessed Eastertide, with my priestly blessing, to the readers of Louie Verrecchio’s akaCatholic blog.

Thank you, Father.
You helped my 3year old understand The Resurrection. He loves staring at the picture of Our Lord as the music pierces his little soul. We have so many visuals of Our Lord’s crucifixion, but I’ve had a difficult time presenting the concept of The Resurrection to him. Obviously he really gets it as he insists on listening and staring over and over. Thank you. How Awesome Our Lord is!
Cortez: thank you so very much for sharing the beautiful experience with your 3-year old son. It has touched my priestly and fatherly heart.
The Church’s genuine sacred liturgy—ritual, music, imagery, etc.—has a proven supernatural potential to elevate us for the contemplation of divine realities.
And Our Lord did say that one needs to be like a child in order to inherit the Kingdom of Heaven…
I, too want to thank you Father, and for your blessing and thank you Louie for sharing this with us. Nothing is more beautiful than praising and thanking our Lord in the language of the Church in the most reverent, beautiful and prayerful manner than this. And with your beautiful voice to boot.
Amen. Aleluya.
God bless you Father Campo.
