The tradservatives – God love them – are on an apparently insatiable quest for a modern day hero. They are constantly seeking out someone credible that they can put up on a pedestal; an authority figure that they can trust and rally behind, a cleric that they can rely upon as their rule of faith.
In other words, whether they know it or not, what they’re searching for is a pope…
