Such a thought is foolish, for it does not consider the virtue of patience or the One Who will reward it, but rather weighs the person and the offense committed.
The man who will suffer only as much as seems good to him, who will accept suffering only from those from whom he is pleased to accept it, is not truly patient. For the truly patient man does not consider from whom the suffering comes, whether from a superior, an equal, or an inferior, whether from a good and holy person or from a perverse and unworthy one; but no matter how great an adversity befalls him, no matter how often it comes or from whom it comes, he accepts it gratefully from the hand of God, and counts it a great gain.
For with God nothing that is suffered for His sake, no matter how small, can pass without reward. Be prepared for the fight, then, if you wish to gain the victory. Without struggle you cannot obtain the crown of patience, and if you refuse to suffer you are refusing the crown. But if you desire to be crowned, fight bravely and bear up patiently. Without labour there is no rest, and without fighting, no victory.

Let’s consider a brief defence for Fr. Morris’. As a representative of Christ in cloth and office, Fr. Morris was a victim here of an assault. Let’s grant Fr. Morris a point here then as ‘victim’, perhaps even a victim ‘in persona Christi’.
In making excuses for the he who spat on him, Fr. Morris was acting as the aggressors advocate. Okay then. As an ‘advocate’, which appellation is given to the Holy Spirit as well as to our Blessed Mother, let’s give Fr. Morris another point here shall we.
Then what is the problem here? On the surface, as both victim and advocate, is not Fr. Morris an exemplary Christian?
Can someone please explain why Fr. Morris was at a gay pride parade? You don’t just accidentally run into one or accidentally show up for one?
Because it was not an attack on Fr. Morris. It was an attack on Christ and His Church who Fr. Morris represents.
If I walked up by you and spat on your mother, you would not cower like a wimp and kiss my feet and speculate that I’m a good person.
Sure Fr. Morris could’ve personally brushed off the ‘injury’ to himself, but he should’ve gone on to point out that the people who did it really have a problem not with him but with Christ and His Church and their souls are therefore in grave danger unless they repent and go to confession (if they are Catholic).
Another teaching moment wasted for platitudes towards the devil. An exemplary Christian or Biblical Jew in older times would’ve taken his sword and struck these evil men down. But today we’re such a pampered spineless bunch filled with bunny rabbits and rainbows that any show of force is considered ‘unchristian.’ Nonsense!
I don’t expect Fr. Morris to spit back or attack them physically, I do however require him to show courage and instruct these men for the sake of their souls. But cowardly modernists like him don’t care for saving souls, only for saving face according to the disoriented eyes of the society they live in.

EM, suffering patiently for love of Christ cannot be found in this whole sad story. Morris has made it public that he ‘suffered’ a hoik-bomb – not exactly suffering in silence, and not suffering for love of Christ because he takes the Hannity chair and makes it a platform to practice apologetics to the world and his wife for sodomitic celebrants – and worse, he does so daring to wear the uniform of a servant of Christ. (perhaps Rich’ take is right on the money). I really hope you can see that Thomas’ description of the virtue of suffering in patience does not apply to Morris. As well, we have no remit to ‘silently’ watch the suffering of Bride of Christ at the hands of the devil.
PS. The Imitation of Christ had a context and an audience – the monk, specifically the novice. Therefore the ideal ‘protagonist’ who imitates Christ in Thomas’ book is the young novice who must, if he is going to keep the habit, bear patiently with his consecrated fellows. The quote doesn’t belong anywhere near Morris and his tales.

I wonder if while Fr Morris was strolling along , he might have noticed the many small children present at this despicable event. One excellent blog featured a photo of a very young boy dressed in drag , with an expression of both anger and fear on his face. The innocent lives of these children , who are truly victims in all this putrifaction seems to be of little or no importance. Listening to this priest I get the clear message that he’s just a tad frightened ( hence the anti inflammatory statement , that they were probably just caught up in the excitement baloney )as I believe most of these men of the church are and well they should be because being spat upon is the very least of what will be coming for them should they cross the line that’s been laid out by the homo agenda….it’s all too obvious and pathetic, they’re terrified of the powers that be.

Therefore, what good or use are his excuses for his aggressor? Nothing. It seems that in perpetuating the theme of the reveller as a victim there is no use in his words except for diabolical ends. According to the progressive point-of-view of the World and modern man, no one is guilty and everyone is a victim, especially the so-called marginalized and the poor. This is the fruit of ignoring, or of not making paramount or central, Jesus Christ as our Saviour and as the one and only true victim especially in the sacrifice of the Mass. Yes, it’s very enlightening. I’ve watched it a few times over the years to remind myself I’m not going mad when most people are ignoring the ever-increasing descent into tyranny. Fr. Morris is symptomatic of distorted theology. Yes, Christ was ‘serene’ on the boat during the storm, and, yes, we are commanded by our Lord not to be upset by “wars and rumours of wars”. However, at the Garden of Gethsemane Christ poured out blood and sweat in prayer. He was certainly no longer serene: imagine that! The Second Person in the Holy Trinity was no longer serene, but by his prayers poured out blood and sweat.
The difference between Christ serene on the boat and Christ at Gethsemane was this: the battle had not yet begun in the former instant, but on that Holy Thursday, the battle had arrived at His doorstep.
What Fr. Morris has missed — as well as the entire post-conciliar Church— seems to be this: that the Pride Parades all over the world is a call to battle by and for the Evil One. And this battle is now on our doorsteps immediately threatening our lives and that of our children.
As traditionalists have known all along, not only are lukewarm Catholics the cause of many of the major evils in the world after Christ’s Salvation of the World, but so too is heresy and bad theology.
What Catholics call a ‘procession’, the atheist, secularist calls a ‘parade’. What the atheist, modern, secularist calls a ‘parade’. Catholics deem a ‘procession’.
A ‘procession’ proceeds from something. (So pregnant in meaning is this term that it is used in our doxology.)
In our case, as a procession proceeds from the Church it has the character of a public mission. So too with these so-called Gay Pride Parades. They are not just parades, but tools for nefarious propaganda.
Both true religious and political leaders must expunge them. Putin and the Turks are right; Western societies have lost their way and are wrong. Catholics better shape up.
