On February 20th, Cardinal Timothy Dolan posted a sermon on his blog that he recently delivered at the Sabbath service of New York’s Temple Emmanuel.
It is, needless to say, rife with precisely the sort of interreligious diplomat-speak that one might expect from Cardinal Dolan.
And yet, some of his comments stand out as noteworthy for the degree to which they chafe Catholic sensibilities, even coming from him.
Speaking of the effect of the conciliar revolution on Catholic-Jewish dialogue, Dolan said:
The advances in friendship between us Jews and Catholics this past half-century prompts us all to praise God. Lord knows it was long overdue. It’s a providential friendship that is especially cherished and appreciated here in New York, the metropolis dubbed the “capital of the world” by Pope St. John Paul II.
Lord knows it was long overdue…
In other words, the Captains of Newchurch, like Dolan and any number of other movers-and-shakers in red, sincerely believe that the Holy Catholic Church, with her prayers for the conversion of the Jews, was sadly misguided lo those many centuries prior to the dawn of the conciliar springtime.
Apparently so too was Our Blessed Lord, but I suppose we’ve discussed that in some detail recently enough in this space.
Ever the gifted wordsmith and consummate crowd-pleaser, Cardinal Dolan spun into a reflection on “Emmanuel,” God with us, saying:
As God-is-with-us in Israel, in the Law and the prophets, in the covenant, in our faith and tradition, and, as we Christians add, in Jesus Christ, so – – and here’s the imperative – – we show a skeptical, fatigued world, by our lives, by our communities of faith, Emmanuel! We dare the world, “If you doubt that He-is-with-us” – – as we hear a lot of you do – – “watch us! Because we bear within His presence, His life!”
I suspect that many an under-nourished Catholic in our day might find little objectionable in these words, and yet, just six short decades ago, your average catechumen would likely bet his bottom dollar that they came from the lips of an unconverted heretic.
First, no Catholic worthy of the name prior to the Council would give the Jews assurance that the old covenant – the one they unceremoniously broke by denying Christ – is as yet unfulfilled, much less the place where God is to be found.
Secondly, one notes with no small amount of righteous indignation, though it may not be immediately obvious to some, how this supposed Prince of Holy Church summarily denied both Our Lord Christ and the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Never mind Cardinal Dolan’s weak-kneed qualifier, “as we Christians add,” what follows is tantamount to swearing before an angry mob, “Truly, I do not know the man!”
Does not Cardinal Dolan believe, as the Church most certainly professes, that God is not simply in Jesus Christ, but rather Jesus Christ is Emmanuel; He is God with us?
One gets a sense for the depths of Dolan’s denial when recalling that it is from the Hebrew Scriptures that the promise of Emmanuel comes:
Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign. Behold a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son and his name shall be called Emmanuel. (Isa 7:14)
With this in mind, it should be plain for all to see that Timothy Dolan, a man that many sincerely believe speaks in the name of the Church, denied in one fell swoop both the Lord and His mother.
This is how far we have fallen.
The icing on the cake (or cream cheese on the bagel, if you prefer) was this positively ecumaniacal proclamation:
I believe God does dwell at St. Patrick’s; I’m convinced He dwells here at Temple Emmanuel, at John the Divine, at the Abyssinian Baptist, at Fifth Avenue Presbyterian, and yes, at Christ Church Methodist!
Let’s connect Dolan’s dots…
If God dwells at the establishments of the false religions, and God is simply in Jesus Christ, then it would appear that Cardinal Dolan supposes that the Mystical Body of Christ is not just the Catholic Church, but every heretical and heathenistic community that one can imagine; including those of the Jews who plainly deny Him.
Finally, I offer Dolan’s inadvertent profession of truth, the import of which appears to be lost on the cardinal:
Wherever His people worship in faith, spirit, truth, and love, Emmanuel! God-is-with-us!
Though I’ve little doubt that Dolan would deny it, especially if a non-Catholic was within earshot, there is only one religion wherein the Lord is worshiped in truth; namely, the Holy Catholic faith.
At this, I invite you to visit Cardinal Dolan’s blog if you so please. At present, mine is but one of three comments (copied below); perhaps you might feel moved to add your own.
____________________________________________________________
So, Eminence, with God dwelling in the buildings of so many false religions, even in the synagogues of those who plainly reject Him (you do recall Our Lord’s words, “He who rejects me rejects him who sent me,” don’t you?), why in God’s name should anyone ever convert to the Holy Catholic faith; the one true religion established by Him?
Indeed, Our Lord’s will is for “peace, healing, amity, mercy, love, and reconciliation,” as you say, but He commanded His Apostles (of which you are a Successor) to carry it out according to the mission given in Mt 28:16-20; “Go to all nations, baptizing them, teaching them everything whatsoever that I commanded…”
Your reflection, therefore, raises many questions.
Was St. Peter (inspired as he was by the Holy Ghost) mistaken when he called the Jews to conversion on Pentecost?
The venerable popes, bishops, priests and religious who evangelized with true missionary zeal and burning charity, calling souls to conversion to the Holy Catholic faith over the last two millennia, were they mistaken?
Are we, the faithful, now to imagine that we do well to leave the Catholic Church for a “dwelling” more to our liking?
Your speech likely earned you warm applause at Temple Emmanuel, but that adulation came at great expense; not the least of which is the confusion of your flock.
As such, your response to the questions raised herein will be much appreciated.
Prayerfully in Christ,
Louie Verrecchio

When New York’s spiritual leaders describe thier city as Dolan did:
“the metropolis dubbed the “capital of the world” by Pope St. John Paul II”,
it sounds just like the description of another world capitol doomed to punishment by God- “Babylon” -and for the same reason–it’s Spiritual fornication…
“for her merchants were the great men of the earth, and all nations have been deceived by her enchantments.”
__
That’s exactly what Dolan’s words amount to, when he forsakes his commitment to God’s mandate to teach and Baptize, in order to create the impression we are free to share a spiritual bed with the Jews or any other believers in false religions or sects, and that it pleases God for us to do so, and is a wonderful witness to the rest of the world. That is no different from the intermingling the Jews did with pagans in the Old Testament, for which they were always eventually severely punished.
What a tremendously clear analysis, thank you.
Great look to the new site.
I am utterly grateful that Our Lord has been merciful and kind enough to bless us with strong, valiant and Godly men like you to fight the evil within the church of man currently running the show in Rome and elsewhere. It will be your kindness and truth that calls Cardinal Dolan out of the filth of the world and into the light of Christ. How is calling New York the capital of the world a good thing? The world is our enemy…thus Cardinal Dolan reigns in the capital of evil and filth. God bless you for all the wondrous work you do on behalf of souls and Our Lord:+)

Pax in Maria. Dear Louie,
So as of 17:43 EST (UTC-5) there are only _two_ comments there now, and it seems that yours may be the one that would appear to be missing. I guess therefore that _authentic_ Catholicism is not so welcome at ++Dolan’s blog after all, eh?
Yet again, may God bless you and yours, Louie, for refusing to deny our Blessed Lord.

Thank God for this oasis of truth and reason, where one can breath freely, unafraid of not abiding by the tyrannical regime’s arbitrary rules concerning what must be ignored, what must be pretended, etc.
Dear all,
Dolan’s not the only Cardinal busy pushing the modernist agenda. Marx is apparently telling the media he’s not about to wait for Rome to approve what they do in Germany. QUOTE:
“We are not subsidiaries of Rome. Each Bishop’s Conference is responsible for the pastoral care in its own cultural sphere and has its unique mission to preach the Gospel. We can’t wait for a Synod to tell us how we here have to go about the pastoral care of families and married persons.”
http://theradicalcatholic.blogspot.com/2015/02/cardinal-marx-we-wont-wait-for-rome.html
I also sent a message. I’m expecting it to be removed. I asked why he would accept a paycheck and a rather nice lifestyle from a church he does not prefer or promote. But it showed up briefly….
——
God bless you, and thank you!
Those who use ‘inculturation’ as their weapon of choice to conquer are very patient. It’s a very effective weapon. Reduce Catholicism to nothing more than a worldly culture wherein it is no better than other cultures, and raise above these cultures a false god who really doesn’t care about where or how people worship him/her/it or, indeed, what they believe about him/her/it.
–
“As we said earlier, I repeat once more: If anyone preaches to you a gospel contrary to what you have received, let him be accursed. …The heretic, even though he has not been condemned formally by any individual, in reality brings anathema on himself, having cut himself off from the way of truth by his heresy. What reply can such people make to the Apostle when he writes: As for someone who is factious, after admonishing him once or twice, have nothing more to do with him, knowing that such a person is perverted and sinful; he is self-condemned. It was in the spirit of this text that Cyril of holy memory, in the books which he wrote against Theodore, declared as follows: ‘Whether or not they are alive, we ought to keep clear of those who are in the grip of such dreadful errors. It is necessary always to avoid what is harmful, and not to be worried about public opinion but rather to consider what is pleasing to God’.”
—Pope Vigilius, Second Council of Constantinople (553AD)
Something I’ve noticed, even in myself, is the sense of shame, or guilt, we have been urged to feel over the past +60 years. Shame at even thinking that we may be destined to be among the saved (knowing the while that we are always in danger of personally throwing away this gift by sin). Just read “The Little Number of the Saved” by St. Leonard of Port Maurice to see this thought developed.
–
To give constant thanks to God (and Our Blessed Mother) for choosing US to be brought forward in the Catholic Faith is seen as triumphalism. We must now bow our heads before the god of tolerance and inclusiveness and pretend that everyone will be saved whether they accept God’s gifts or not – in contrast to bowing our heads to the ground, beating our breasts, full of grateful tears – and actually saying thank you to Our Father in Heaven. When one reads the old books we see that God already knows who will correspond and who will resist all His graces. He blinds many souls because He sees everything, knows everything, and gives His blessings to those whom He disposes to accept them…a mystery.
–
Well, I’m sick of this garbage. We are among the chosen – only because this is God’s Plan, not because we are better than others. Why did God choose us? Why does he keep us clear from error when He allows others to suck in the latest heresy? We don’t know but darned if I’m not going to feel happy about this!
–
I want to express myself very clearly: I do not believe that I am in any way special or deserving within the human race. But I do feel special and thankful in this way: God in His infinite Wisdom has set me on the right path. And He continues to keep me there. He is giving me good priests, good books, good Catholic media, good Catholic friends – all for His purposes. And most important of all: He has even given me the grace to correspond to all these gifts! That’s the true grace – actual grace – to move my will so I will stay on the path. Many are called, but few are chosen. This frightens me terribly but it is truth and I must act accordingly.
–
What we see in poor Father Rosica, and poor Cardinal Dolan, and in Poor Francis is a denial of these graces which God has given THEM. The Faith, The Church, Tradition, The Fathers, The Saints, Our Lady, The Sacraments, The Blessed Sacrament. All this is seen as triumphalism when acknowledged with tears of thanksgiving.
–
It’s very important to proclaim this Truth! This is the great levelling: when we tell others that we are all on the path. What a shocking state we are in. These men are in a terrible state of complete lack of gratitude. Pray for them.
Not sure how long it was up there on the Cardinal’s blog, but I simply asked how Jews worship in truth, when they reject Truth (Jesus Christ). Such censorship gives another example of political correctness trumping the Catholic Faith at the highest levels of the Church.
Dear Barbara,
Thanks once again, both for your Faith AND a great reference.
The following link presents it with colorul illustration. Please let us know if it’s not what you were talking about – or just an excerpt.

This [slightly edited for posting here] portion of the intro and conclusion seem a good sample of the quality and power of his writing:
__
“..because of the love I have for you, I wish I were able to reassure you..saying.. the greater number of Christians is saved, so you also will be saved. But how can I give you this sweet assurance if you revolt against God’s decrees..? I observe in God a sincere desire to save you, but I find in you a decided inclination to be damned. So what will I be doing today if I speak clearly? I will be displeasing to you. But if I do not speak, I will be displeasing to God.”
__
“.. I will divide this subject into two points. In the first.. I will let the theologians and Fathers of the Church..declare that the greater number of Christian adults are damned; .. In the second..I will attempt .. proving to you that those who are damned are damned by their own malice, because they wanted to be damned. … If the first truth frightens you, do not hold it against me, as though I wanted to make the road of heaven narrower for you.. rather, hold it against the theologians and Fathers of the Church who will engrave this truth in your heart by the force of reason. If you are disillusioned by the second truth, give thanks to God over it, for He wants only one thing: that you give your hearts totally to Him.”
___
“No one is damned unless he commits mortal sin: that is of faith. And no one commits mortal sin unless he wants to: that is an undeniable theological proposition. Therefore, no one goes to hell unless he wants to.. Does that not suffice to comfort you? Weep over past sins, make a good confession, sin no more in the future, and you will all be saved.”

Solid teaching, awesome expression- perfect Lenten reflection.
Thanks, again, and God Bless you.
p.s.
The passion we feel about this issue of failure and misuse of teaching authority boils down to how genuine concern we have for souls BECAUSE we know these things to be true–that salvation is a free will choice, and ALL of us need solid teaching and constant reminders about sin versus obedience to God’s laws, once we are Baptized.
The more people we have come to love in our lives, the easier it becomes to let God expand that love to every soul ever conceived. And when we realize the insurmountable task that lies before us as individuals, we realize the great need of having holy, faithful clergy to help direct and guide the Church throughout the ages.
The more we see them throwing their lives away on false ideas and busy making friends with the worldly while reviling the Faithful, the more our frustration and sense of justified anger grows, at the thought of all the souls they could have helped, including many of those we love. It requires patience and Faith in God to get through these distressing times, and as Padre Pio reminds us, leave the helm to Jesus, who is guiding the boat according to the star God put up in the sky to light our way at night–Our Blessed Lady. Pray always, and Trust.
I posted a comment this morning asking where your comment was.
Mine is still up.
His Eminence’s blog is a week old and has only three comments, two of which look like bots.
Pretty lame.
The ‘shame’ you mentioned is the weapon of demoralization. To uphold lies against Truth, and praise those in error against those cleaving to Truth is about working to turn us away from Truth. But we work just as hard to accept the Grace not to be bullied. Ultimately, Christ’s own don’t betray Him in order to be ‘accepted’ by the bully who hates Him.
–
Christ is hated by the world, and He is most certainly hated by the Modernist interlopers who feed and nourish lies.
Dear Louie and all,
Maybe we’re wasting our time trying to reason with people who’ve lost their minds, or there’s something hallucinatory in the water at the Vatican.
Fr Z.’s blog says he’d like to create a new “Sacred Congregation for Thinking Stuff Through Before Doing It” -which is putting it mildly, IOHOs.

You did a blog on the last fiasco of the Council for Culture– that strange “filmette” on women, calling for donated videos. Well, apparently they topped that with something even weirder and more offensive:
http://www.cultura.va/content/cultura/en/plenarie/2015-women/outline.html
___
They note that Cardinal Ravasi is acknowledging angry complaints but leaving it up there, because it “speaks to the central point” of their newest document on womens’ equality–that many women are still struggling for freedom (bound with rope, headless, and limbless)–so to speak.

–
http://www.traditionalmass.org/images/articles/TradsInfall.pdf
Thanks for that link. Very instructive and frightening. This is where my sorrow lies: I can see and hear with my own senses that Poor Francis is teaching error. The disconnect occurs when I tell myself that Our Dear Father in Heaven will allow this up to a point. Then the point gets farther and farther away from the Truth. Is this what the full third secret of Fatima reveals? The almost total apostasy of priests, bishops and the pope? Little Sister Lucia was very reluctant to write the ‘second’ part of the third secret, in fact she had to be directed to do so and she did, through obedience. Popes since Pius XII have been reluctant to reveal the whole truth, and Cardinal Ratzinger has said it is too disturbing (will not be understood?) so we have been spared this necessary truth(????). Sorry I don’t have a citation on that.
–
So how far may we go in our reflections on this? I have a horrible feeling that this time, this pope, these cardinals and bishops are in apostasy and will attempt to lead the Church into something unrecognizable.
–
We have the words of a) McKarrick (sp?), and b) that awful Madradiego (sp?) telling us that Poor Francis will a) take 5 years to ‘reform’ the Church if elected, and b) he will take the Church ‘forward’ until it will be impossible to bring her back.
–
Can I face this? The old question I ask all the time. Is this the time?
–
There is good to be had here, believe it or not. When we hear or read some total evil we immediately plunge into our beloved Tradition, perennial Church Teachings, the writings of the Fathers (and St. Thomas), and the Saints. There we bolster our Faith with TRUTH. So that’s a good fruit Our Dear Lord is bringing out of this disaster.
I’ve been following some links to Louie’s prior posts and I’ve noticed something that has crept into our language as Catholics.
–
We often refer to ourselves, and see many, many prelates refer to us as “Christians.” (see Dolan’s rant to the Jews.)
–
Are we ‘followers of Christ.’ Yes. But we are Catholics. In my humble opinion we must always use this distinction. When the Father Rosica mess surfaced I followed links there too and read the old article written about him when he was a deacon. He actually stated there that he didn’t like the title Catholic, that it was so ‘yesterday’ and that we should refer to ourselves as Christians.
–
He who controls the language controls the thought (Lex Orandi, lex Credendi). Today it’s rare to hear members of Christ’s One True Church called Catholics in the true meaning of that title.
–
Why is this dangerous? We are all Christians now, even those like Muslims and Jews, atheists, and every pagan organization on the planet, who “don’t know it yet” – we are all on the wide path to ???? We are not to be thankful that we are Catholic. We must not believe there is no salvation outside the Catholic Church.
–
on and on it goes. We must cling to The Holy Roman Catholic Church, and revel in that title: CATHOLICS!!!!
Dear Barbara,
We have the same reaction to these and other language changes so subtly introduced since VII. The orientation away from the mandate to Convert seems to be at the heart of it all. At first, it was all presented to us, as a means of opening the doors to reach out with the Truths we’ve been given to safeguard and share; to people who felt cut off or estranged or who were ignorant or fearful of us for a host of reasons blamed on history or us, mostly. But after a relatively short time, it has been transformed into preaching AT true Catholics-don’t you dare alienate our new or potential friends by claiming ANY kind of superiority of beliefs or “fullness” of the Truth, (Triumphalism) when we’re out to join hands, hearts and TEACHINGS with everyone we meet. We now proclaim them in possession of the same truths we have, by the power of the Holy Spirit working mysteriously in whatever Faith they hold, and we now urge them NOT to convert, but to stick with it, and be good. (Read your Koran if you’re a Muslim)
__
Now they pounce on Catholics who try to boldly proclaim that the False things other religions believe and teach make it necessary for them to convert to the Catholic Faith, and a danger to their souls. “No, No, No, we don’t proselytize” and “I’m not out to convert any of you” have replaced the bold proclamations of Saints like Francis de Sales, who said to the Calvanists and their leaders:
“These-fundamental faults into which your ministers have led you, namely having abandoned the Church and violated all the true rules of the Christian religion, make you altogether inexcusable, gentlemen” “They are so gross that you cannot but know them, nd so important that either of the two suffices to make you lose true Christianity; since neither faith without the Church, nor the Church without faith can save you, any more that the eye without the head or the heat without the eye could see the light.” Whoever would separate you from union with the Church should be suspected by you, and whoever should so greatly infringe the holy rules of the Faith, ought to be avoided and disregarded, whatever his appearance might be, whatever he might allege. You should NOT have so lightly believed.”
“Had you been prudent in your way of acting, you would have seen that it was not the Word of God they brought forward, but their own ideas veiled under words of Scripture, and you would have known well, that so rich a dress was never made for covering soworthless a body, as this heresy is.”
=======
That’s our idea of bold proclamation of the Faith. And it worked to convert them, unlike the new -let’s just make friends with everybody and work together despite all our “differences” mentality now being touted.
And the other huge error since VII is this idea that sin doesn’t matter to us as much as Communion, which is a “healing” sacrament, not something you have to be made worthy to receive by repenting of all mortal sin, FIRST.
======
Lets KEEP the Faith.
p.s. St. Francis de Sales quote above is from “The Catholic Controversy” Part III Church Doctrines and Institituions. p. 333.
This kinda says it all: Faith is the full adhesion of our intelligence to the Divine Truth revealed by God and taught by the Church.
–
Wow! Imagine preaching that in Germany now? Imagine preaching that to Cardinal Dolan now? Imagine preaching that to Father Rosica now? Imagine preaching that to Poor Francis now?
–
Each one would say, “well, yes, BUT….”
I meant to add: docility. That is the key to all this nonsense. Docility to the Truth taught by God, and Holy Mother Church is what is missing in every statement coming out of NewChurch.
–
Our Lord says (massive paraphrase!) “It’s My way or the highway – and that highway is wide, and strewn with rose petals, until you get near the bottom when it slants very steeply downward and the roses turn into thorns.”
Dear Barbara,
The problem is they AGREE with you that docility to the teachings of the Church is necessary. It’s the teachings themselves they are claiming we don’t “understand” properly, because we’re “clinging” to the VERY ideas from the past which the Holy Spirit (Whom they are more qualified to interpret that we) is CLARIFYING THE MEANING OF…i.e. doing something “new” and “surprising” in His “leading” of the Church.
___
Our job is to demonstrate that the Holy Spirit CANNOT CONTRADICT HIMSELF from what He clearly revealed in past dogmatic teachings.
That’s what leaders like Burke, Pell, Sarah, and Schneider, have been doing in the press lately. You’ll notice none of them have taken the approach of claiming the modernists who are in charge right now, don’t have Faith. They MAY have to do that eventually, but for now they’re sticking to proving that their false “ideas” about the Faith, cannot be coming from God.
Hello, Barbara. I think God let’s us wake up to the reality of what the Novus Ordo is actually trying to acheive at the pace a Loving Father does, or at the pace obstinate children demand. The True successors of the Apostles have safe-guarded Apostolic succession and the true sacraments, despite all the efforts of satan – and he hates and despise the fact of this and the reality of these True Priests (this hatred is so evident those bound to the ‘spirit’ of the Novus Ordo when confronted with authentic Faith. There will always be the unadulterated Holy Sacrifice, till the Consummation of the Age – Christ promised. I do not attend the Novus Ordo sect – it is not Catholic – it is exactly what it seems, a protestant worship of ‘another Jesus, another spirit, another gospel’ (‘another Christ, whom we have not preached…another Spirit, whom you have not received; or another gospel which you have not received [St Paul goes on the chastise those who put up with or ‘bear’ with such faleshoods]); it – the NO is so blatantly not Catholic. We can and should unite ourselves with the True Sacraments – if we cannot do so physically, pray. We have media that allows us to ‘attend’ the True Mass of the True Church. Sr Lucia did say the time was coming when the Faithful would have only the Rosary and the Sign of the Cross, but through these, if we have no True priests and True Mass at a geographic reach, we can pray with them.
–
http://www.sgg.org/
Yes, you’re right. When I actually take the time to read what comes out of the Modernist Heretics’ mouths (other than just reading quotes) I see how they are attempting to form a new church. Damn them!
Dear Barbara,
We hope the last exclamation above was just a bit of impulsive venting, but even if so, please consider the possible damages to someone else reading it here, who might join with that sentiment whole heartedly and be led to sin. As followers of Christ, we must train ourselves, even when greatly provoked, to wish only for salvation– never damnation– for every soul that has not yet exerienced its particular judgment.

Yes, we are instructed to rebuke evil and correct our brothers, but Scripture clearly warns and teaches us about the evils of cursing:
–Numbers 23:8
How can I curse whom God has not cursed?
–Psalm 109:17
He loved to curse; let curses come upon him! He did not delight in blessing; may it be far from him!
–James 3:8-10
[The tongue] is a restless evil, full of deadly poison. With it we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we curse people who are made in the likeness of God. From the same mouth come blessing and cursing. My brothers, these things ought not to be so.
–Romans 12:14 “Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them.” Luke 6:28 Bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you.

Sorry for the mini-lecture. It’s meant in the best way. 🙂 🙂
Yes indeed this is the new modernist speak. ‘Communion’ is the sacrament of ‘Mercy’. I heard our ‘new Bishop’ of Chicago (Cupich- pray for us here!) state this as if it were actual Catholic Doctrine on National TV. He said he wasn’t going to ‘politicize the Communion Rail’ because ‘after all, Communion is the Sacrament of MERCY.’ This is exactly the tactic they are using and will use to validate immorality. A new ‘interpretation of Doctrine’. Pretty handy eh? And……..where does the Sacrament of Reconciliation come in with all this? That is anyone’s guess. Oh, maybe they are just going to eventually do away with it, after all, marching up to the Communion Rail with mortal sin on your soul and basically you have a ‘two for’.
Why do they think that Catholics are actually going to buy this ‘new theology’? Or do they just think that there are so few of us left by now, they don’t have much to worry about?
No Indignus……..it’s called ‘Diabolical Disorientation’ and, at the highest levels in Rome. I like to call it ‘Diabolical Insanity’. LOL…….when Francis was coming out with all of his ‘irregularities’ in interviews and homilies, I at first actually thought there may be something wrong with him, medically speaking. I was seriously concerned that some kind of illness was causing his strange Catholic ideas. Took me a while, but I have no doubt now as to what’s really going on.
HERE’s a current example of the TRUE Church standing up to error, which
The “Remnant” headlined “This is how it’s done, Cardinal Dolan”
__
“STILL RIVER, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) …School officials from the Immaculate Heart of Mary said that the school was “compelled” by the teachings of the Catholic Church to pull out of the [St. Patrick’s Day] parade. …Catholics are forbidden to sponsor or even participate in an event which openly promotes unnatural and immoral behavior,” Brother Thomas Dalton, the school’s principal, said in a press release on Thursday. “The Church will never accept nor condone same sex marriage and the homosexual life style.” Brother Dalton added that “the name of Saint Patrick should be dropped from the parade as he would have nothing to do with the likes of it today.”
NOTE: “The school [had] participated in the parade for 25 years. “
Dear Teresa,
We hope you didn’t mistake our comments above for an endorsement of the “Holy Spirit” claim the modernists make. We do agree with the diabolical disorientation explanation, as one of the causes of it all.
“Why do they think that Catholics are actually going to buy this ‘new theology’? Or do they just think that there are so few of us left by now, they don’t have much to worry about?” Excellent questions. I reckon they ‘think that Catholics are going to buy it’, because of the false ideas Catholics are taught about authority and about what a Pope is for. The idolisation of a wolf in a shepherd’s cassock helps no one and blinds us to the reality of the authentic Holy See that is being dismissed and overshadowed by something not at all authentic or holy, and thereby lacking any spiritual authority. To whom has Our Lord Jesus Christ ‘confided His flock?’ Christ cannot possibly confide our souls to belial (someone we wouldn’t let catechize our children), and we have no obligation to confide ourselves to falsehoods no matter how close they are in time to or real estate to the True Church. I also think they are counting, literally, on there being too few or simply no one who is willing to look this falsehood square in the face and say, ‘anathema’. We have an obligation to shun false teachings and false teachers. If we don’t, we get what we settle for – a false ‘church’.

Ezechiel.34 The weak you (false shepherds) have not strengthened, and that which was sick you have not healed, that which was broken you have not bound up, and that which was driven away you have not brought again, neither have you sought that which was lost: but you ruled over them with rigour, and with a high hand…As I live, saith the Lord God, forasmuch as my flocks have been made a spoil, and my sheep are become a prey to all the beasts of the field, because there was no shepherd…I will feed my sheep: and I will cause them to lie down, saith the Lord God. I will seek that which was lost: and that which was driven away, I will bring again: and I will bind up that which was broken, and I will strengthen that which was weak, and that which was fat and strong I will preserve: and I will feed them in judgment.

The problem the faithful have had for going on fifty years is recognizing the duty and obligation they have to reject illegitimate authority. It is an article of faith that the Holy Catholic Church cannot give an evil doctrine, disciple or practice. Authorities who give evil doctrines, disciplines or practices are not acting on behalf of the Holy Catholic Church and should be rejected.

Regarding the first many years of the conciliar revolution concerning, in particular, changes in the liturgy and ecumenical practices, Catholics, I suppose, could be forgiven for giving Church leaders the benefit of the doubt. I don’t speak for the Almighty though. It is noted that the new mass adopted many of the changes of the protestant heretics. In some cases, it can be said that the new mass is not even as reverent as the “best” of the protestant “rites'”. The ecumenical practices adopted by the Church permit activities that were always condemned. Much of this was not evident at the beginning of the conciliar revolution, though. It is now more than evident. We now know exactly what the conciliar revolutionaries meant by their changes. In addition, we also have the rotten fruit of the conciliar innovations. The conciliar innovations have been shown in their application and by their fruits as an evil tree. Our Lord himself spelled this out – a good tree (the Holy Catholic Church) cannot give a rotten fruit – the conciliar innovations. Thus, the conciliar innovations should not be viewed as a product of the Holy Catholic Church.
—
But I suppose that an argument can still be made that the initial submission of Catholics to apparently legitimate authority should be viewed as blameless docile submission. As the sacrileges, blasphemies and loss of faith mounts, though, the continued submission of Catholics to these evil doctrines, practices and disciplines must be viewed as incurring culpable fault. We have to practice willful ignorance not to notice the rotten fruits of the conciliar revolution at this point.

The Almighty apparently is giving the faithful another opportunity with the current trials to wake up from their stupor and come to their senses, The changes that are being proposed by those like “Archbishop” Tcupich are not like those that followed in the wake of VII. They are not being initially hidden or gradually rolled out as in the case of many of the conciliar changes, like, for example, the new mass. The faithful were not told at the beginning exactly where all the liturgical or ecumenical innovations of VII would lead to, e.g., clown masses or the abominations of JPII Assisi events. But the faithful are being told now exactly what is proposed – that unrepentant public adulterers and sodomites will be given communion.
—
Thus, there is no hiding of exactly where all the changes will lead – the new disciplines are ON THEIR FACE EVIL AND SACRILEGIOUS. They deserve no “trial run” to see how their fruits will turn out. Unrepentant adulterers and sodomites are persisting in a state of mortal sin. To administer them communion in such a state is ipso facto sacrilegious and has always been viewed as such by the Church. Thus, any prelate who proposes such an evil innovation should be viewed in the same way as the discipline he is proposing as ipso facto evil and therefore illegitimate. In other words, those like “Archbishop” Tcupich who proposes a disciple that ex opere operato will result in sacrilegious is not to be viewed as a legitimate authority. To view someone like Tcupich as exercising the legitimate authority of the Holy Catholic Church is to view the Church as capable of giving evil. Whatever institution Tcupich is acting on behalf of it is not the Holy Catholic Church!
—
I don’t know what to say about my fellow apparently faithful Catholics if they cannot make this simple logical conclusion – that any prelate who proposes a discipline that on its face will result in evil and sacrilege cannot be viewed as exercising the legitimate authority of the Church.
Hello Barbara. They have set up a new church but expect everyone to accept that it is running along the same train tracks as the True Church. New rites of ordination, new mass, new catechism, new code of canon law, new disciplines, New Order. New destination.
Great analysis by Louie as usual. However, at this point, “Dolomite Dolan” is beyond doing anything that would be a surprise….with the exception of actually preaching and defending the OTF of course. With all due respect, the man gives new meaning to the word..”tiresome”. He has become a caricature to the extent of being tagged as
“Cardinal Clown Dolan” who never found a sin he would not excuse. Another “diabolical disorientationist”
Yes, I realize of course that these Prelates are spouting falsehoods. That is not to say we should not pray for them. I pray for them and for Francis daily. They are being led by the spirit of the world for all practical purposes. They are typical ‘modernists’ that confuse and confound by talking out of both sides of their mouth. Some days they do indeed speak truth and then turn around and spout falsehoods. This is typical for modernists, nothing new under the sun.
We are Blessed with a few Bishops, however, that are courageously standing for truth. Archbishop Cordileone is one that battling darkness now by insisting that those that staff Catholic Schools in SF speak and act according to Doctrine. But as you can all see, he is hunkered down in the trenches and standing strong in the battle……so far anyway………….pray for him.
Indeed it worries me that there are some faithful that will spin and excuse what they are saying, I believe in desperate hope that they are not really witnessing dissent, and/or that we must obey no matter what falsehoods are boldly proclaimed. Infallibility is greatly misunderstood. Some of our greatest saints stood up to Priests, Bishops and even the Pope himself in the face of heresy, and we the faithful are called to do the same. But the modernists are taking advantage of this confusion among the faithful, a prime example is Cardinal Wuerl’s latest accusation that Cardinal Burke and anyone who does not agree 100% with Francis is a ‘dissenter’. It is truly EVIL what is going on. Truly EVIL. I do think they are now ‘out for the kill’. They’ve managed to water down the faith already since Vat ll to the point it is not the same Church even now, and being weak and faltering they are ‘going for the kill’.
It’s taken me about a year to slowly but steadily come to this point, but thanks to our Dear and ever so PRECIOUS Blessed Mother, she has gently taken the blinders off, and I will be ever thankful and grateful to her for it. I do believe she is helping to ‘wake up the children.’ She is ever so gentle in accomplishing this, and I do see more and more that are beginning to ‘wake up.’ She seems to be doing an awesome job.
I agree about this infestattion of talking out of two sides of our mouth and I beleive it has been showing itself publically from the modernists since the reign of PiusXII. I liked Salvemur’s above link to traditionalmass.org where the author of the article “Traditionalists, Infallibility and The Pope” by Father Cekada, lists one of five errors and evils officially aproved either by VaticanII or by PaulVI and his successors as the following. “Abolition in VatII and the 1983 Code of Canon Law of the traditional distinction between primary (procreation) and secondary (unity) ends of marriage, the placing of those ends on the same level, and reversal of their order. The change provides tacit support for contraception, since the prohibition against birth control was based on the teaching that procreation is marriage’s primary end.”
Even though I am not a fan of Karol Wojtyla’s book “Love and Responsibility” that he wrote before he became Pope it nonetheless is one of the better treatments from
our modernistics times that explains well the hierarchy of purposes of marriage. Here is the quote from this book. As a side note, I believe he was trying to support a personalistic norm throughout this book which I am also not a fan of. But the one brief moment in this book that he speaks with a traditional mind is worth quoting.
“With this in mind it seems equally clearly indicated that the mutuum auditorium (conjugal life for man and woman) mentioned in the teaching of the Church on the purposes of marriage as second in importance after procreation must not be interpreted-as it often is- to mean mutual ‘love’, Those who do this may mistakenly come to believe that procreation as a primary end is something distinct from ‘love’, as also is the tertiary end, remidium concupisentiae (legitimate orientation for desire) , whereas both procreation and remidium concupiscentiae as purposes of marriage must result from love as a virtue, and so fit in with the personalistic norm. Mutuum adiutorium as a purpose of marriage is likewise only a result of love as a virtue. There are no grounds for interprting the phrase mutuum adiutorium to mean ‘love’. For the Church, in arranging the objective purposes of love in a particular order, seeks seeks to emphasize that procreation is objectively, ontologically, a more important purpose than that man and woman should live together, complement each other (mutuum adiutorium), just as this second purpose is in turn more important than the appeasement of natural desire. But there is no question of opposing love to procreation nor yet of suggesting that procretion takes precedence over love.”
As a reminder to those who believe that one can not only invert the hierarchy of purpose of marriage but can also separate them in act word or deed through the pravtice and endorsement of NFP here is a quote from Acta Apostolicae Sedis (the official arm of the Catholic Church that replaced the Sacred Penitentiary as a more
official arm of the Church) A response of the Holy Office to the following question: “May one subscribe to the opinion of certain mordern authors who deny that the principle end of marriage is the begetting and education of children, or who teach that the secondary ends are not essentially subordinated to the primary ends, but are equally and primary and independent?” The reply was “NO.” ( A.A.S., 36, 103;Aril20, 1944)
Let’s admit it . There is mass confusion and speaking out of two sides of our mouth in present time. And we must plow through all of this and weed out the bad and keep the good
Sorry, meant to say plough and not plow. Also, I have to take back saying “the one brief moment Karl Wojtyla speaks with a traditional mind in his book.” This I wish to correct by saying ” one of the moments where Karl Wojtyla speaks with a traditional mind in his book.” There wasn’t only one brief moment of traditional thought in this book to be fair.
I’m really an old crab about language but I don’t like “Sacrament of Reconciliation.” It is Penance or Confession. That was good enough for Catholics for hundreds of years before Vatican II. All of a sudden we are ‘reconciled’ to God, as if it were a two way street. There is a one way street: we are on our knees begging forgiveness, and God reaches down in His Mercy and forgives us. Again, reconciliation sounds like negotiation, whereas Confession sounds like what it is.
So call me a crab and a nit-picker!
Ingemisco, tamquam reus:
Culpa rubet vultus meus:
Supplicanti parce, Deus.
—
Qui Mariam absolvisti,
Et latronem exaudisti,
Mihi quoque spem dedisti.
—
Preces meæ non sunt dignæ;
Sed tu bonus fac benigne,
Ne perenni cremer igne.
—
Inter oves locum præsta.
Et ab hædis me sequestra,
Statuens in parte dextra.
—
Confutatis maledictis,
Flammis acribus addictis,
Voca me cum benedictis.
—
Oro supplex et acclinis,
Cor contritum quasi cinis,
Gere curam mei finis.
—
—
I sigh, like the guilty one:
my face reddens in guilt:
Spare the supplicating one, God.
—
Thou who absolvedst Mary,
and heardest the Robber,
gavest hope to me, too.
—
My prayers are not worthy:
however, Thou, Good [Lord], do good,
lest I be burned up by eternal fire.
—
Grant me a place among the sheep,
and take me out from among the goats,
setting me on the right side.
—
Once the cursed have been rebuked,
sentenced to acrid flames:
Call Thou me with the blessed.
—
I meekly and humbly pray,
[my] heart is as crushed as the ashes:
perform the healing of mine end.
It’s the Emperor’s New Clothes in all its chilling reality.
Pope John Paul’s encyclical Veritatis Splendor was excellent.
Dolan’s an idiot!
Lynda,
You know it is standard modernist operational practice to sprinkle some orthodoxy among the heterodoxy, for well recognized reasons.
