Commonweal Magazine, which dwells on the “peripheries” (to borrow a Bergoglian favorite expression) of liberal Catholicism (if you will allow), recently posted a blog article by Michael Wright titled, Silent Grace: Finding Peace in the Latin Mass.
By way of background, Mr. Wright is a self-described “Green Catholic” living in Texas, and whose 2017 bio at the website of National Catholic Reporter (another far left media outlet) stated that he “leads the environmental justice ministry at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in New Freedom, Pennsylvania.”
Over the last few days on my social media feed, I’ve noticed that Wright’s Commonweal post is getting a great deal of positive attention in some traditional Catholic circles; as if his take on the Traditional Latin Mass in some way serves as vindication.
Most recently, I saw just such commentary on the Rorate Caeli blog and decided to read the article for myself.
Having done so, I’m impressed by just how little it takes to elicit these kinds of reactions from certain tradition-minded folk.
Before I go further, it is necessary to make two important points:
One, we should rejoice whenever anyone expresses an affinity for the Traditional Roman Rite; in particular, when that person was formerly devoted to the Novus Ordo and is apparently having their eyes opened to some extent.
On this note, I join those who see in Mr. Wright’s commentary a reason for hope for him and his family.
Secondly, it is pretty much a given that an article about the Traditional Latin Mass published by Commonweal is not going get everything right; i.e., we should expect it to retain if not outright error, at least a palpable degree of liberal bias.
It is for this reason that those with a trusted voice in traditional Catholic media (or even just a traditional voice in social media among fellow Catholics) must qualify their enthusiasm for such articles; lest they end up misleading more persons than they enlighten.
At this, let’s take a look at some of Mr. Wright’s comments.
After sharing his sense of discontent during his years of attending the Novus Ordo, he goes on to say:
Then, three or four years ago, on a whim, I attended Latin Mass at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Austin, Texas. … My faith is not certain, and my doubt leads to questions. The Latin Mass welcomes me into the silence that allows me to seek the answers.
Yes, the Traditional Latin Mass is a great place to seek answers; not because it is properly didactic or because it offers solitude, but because lex orandi statuat legem credendi – the law of prayer establishes the law of belief.
For example, the Traditional Mass is indeed remedial for one who might struggle with belief in the Real Presence after years of Novus Ordo indoctrination.
Mr. Wright goes on:
Despite Catholic school and all that CCD, I didn’t realize until then the Novus ordo wasn’t just a straight translation. The Latin readings confused me; I couldn’t tell, for example, just when the transubstantiation was occurring. But I knew without looking at the translation when we were saying “Lamb of God” and the Lord’s Prayer. I watched these strange ways of doing familiar things. The priest faced away from us. We knelt to take communion on the tongue. All the altar servers were male. I bowed at the priest during the recessional, incense still in my nostrils. Then I did something I’d never done after Mass. I sat in a pew, and I felt it: peace.
Again, these are encouraging comments from someone who appears to be taking steps, however grand or modest they may be, toward tradition.
The article goes a bit off the rails, however, when Wright states:
No one at St. Mary’s has been less than welcoming to me and to my family, but they do worry that I am going to hell for reading Commonweal.
This is, of course, both gratuitous and absurd. One can be certain that no one told Wright that his soul is in jeopardy for reading Commonweal, and in truth, he likely has no idea what the “welcoming” people at St. Mary’s are really worried about.
Even so, the urge to paint “trads” in a bad, judgmental, light apparently proved irresistible. Wright wasn’t quite finished, however. He went on:
Called to a liturgy that hasn’t changed in centuries, they [the Latin Mass-goers] seem very close-knit, almost to the point of insularity. In the past, they’ve pushed the idea of establishing a parish of their own, separate from St. Mary’s, where Mass would only be said in Latin. For many at St. Mary’s, the Latin Mass seems to be a part of a larger withdrawal from modern society, including Vatican II. Many homeschool their children, even for religious education. Some drive from as much as an hour away, making the weekly trek because they cannot find what they’re looking for in their home parishes. They seem to be a community within a community, creating walls, whether they mean to or not.
Insular, wall-building separatists who are withdrawn from the modern society, and Vatican II.
Yes, there are parts of this description about which many tradition-minded Catholics would respond, “You better believe it!”
But remember who is speaking – a self-proclaimed Bergoglian “eco-Catholic” with a particular devotion to Laudato Si’ – who recently lamented in National Catholic Reporter:
In fact, claiming to be pro-life (sans pro-environment) has become the only “litmus test” for a candidate’s qualification for office.
Yes, heaven forbid one not treat tree frogs and old growth trees with the same reverence as terminally ill or unborn human beings.
Let us also keep in mind for whom he is writing – Commonweal; i.e., the slant here is that withdrawal from our debased, Christ the Kingless modern society and the Almighty Council that dethroned Him is something of a sin – not exactly the sort of treatment I would like to recommend, even inadvertently, to those who may not know any better.
This, as I said, is just as one should expect from such a publication; i.e., no surprises there.
Even so, Wright is pleased to conclude, in spite of all this, “But the Latin Mass has a place for me.”
All in all, not a terrible article given the source, and like I said, we can be genuinely pleased to know that this man is frequenting the Mass of Ages with his children, and can only hope and pray that he goes the distance in what may, or may not, be his journey to tradition.
What is a bit surprising, at least to me, however, is the aforementioned unqualified joy with which the article has been received in some traditional circles.
Rorate, for example, was pleased to link to the article, while stating:
The Commonweal piece seems particularly important to us because it shows it is possible to have a different sensibility to certain themes of Catholic social doctrine and still appreciate the Mass that was the same and only known by all great Catholic social reformers of the history of the Latin Church. The Traditional Mass really is not about a particular kind of political preference, but it is all about love for the most sacred thing on Earth: the Blessed Sacrament of the Altar.
The Traditional Latin Mass is the birthright of each and every Catholic. To each one of them, regardless of their political leanings, we say: Welcome Home!
No, I’m sorry, there is little evidence to suggest that Michael Wright (to say nothing of the typical Commonweal subscriber) suffers from little more than a particular kind of political preference that, at the end of the day, really isn’t all that important. In fact, the opposite seems fairly certain.
Never mind the fact that Hell bent devotion to radical Bergoglian environmentalism, which cannot be divorced from the population control agenda (as evidenced if not by Wright’s musings than by the Pontifical Academy of Sciences’ guest list) is like a bottle of red compared to the bottle of white that is a more “traditionally Catholic” political preference.
In reality, the Traditional Mass, while not “about” a particular kind of political preference, most certainly does, when truly embraced, give rise to one; namely, the Social Kingship of Our Lord Jesus Christ, and authentic love for the Most Blessed Sacrament of the Altar requires one to labor for its establishment.
Yes, “political leanings” matter a great deal, unless, of course, one buys into the separation of Church and State lie.
Now, I don’t believe for a moment that this describes the good people at Rorate, I simply think that their enthusiasm in this case happened to trump their better judgment.
I also don’t believe that it is wise for traditionalists to shout “Welcome Home!” to proponents of leftwing political initiatives simply because they’ve shown up for the Latin Mass for a period of time.
To do so is to make a caricature of the so-called “traditional movement;” one that falsely reduces it to little more than a liturgical dispute as opposed to what it truly is:
A battle for the heart of the Catholic Faith vis-à-vis the Sovereign Rights of Christ the King.
Mr. Wright represents the Protestants, who speak of Jesus as their savior, yet reject His truths. Let us offer a prayer for him, that while attending the Sacrifice of the Holy Mass, in reverence, and silence (not murmuring and conspiring against Catholics), God will find his heart sincere, and remove the scales from his blind eyes……knowing that one day he will have to be judged accordingly.
“To do so is to make a caricature of the so-called “traditional movement;” one that falsely reduces it to little more than a liturgical dispute as opposed to what it truly is”
I have come to believe that most of the “traditionalists” who attend the TLM really do think this is just a liturgical issue.
Well then 2 Vermont, if they do ,they live in their own tiny bubble.
Sadly, I have met quite a number of “Traditional Catholics” who don’t want to get involved with anything more than attending the TLM on Sundays and Holy Days. They have admitted that anything more than that is getting too political. Perhaps, they have an elitist mentality. Fighting for your faith requires sacrifice and enthusiasm. Walking in the door and out the door when obligated sounds very lukewarm to me. Where is the fire in the soul? Let’s pray that Mr. Wright see the urgent need for the Social Reign of Christ the King.
2 Cents , where is the fire in souls when the see their places of worship being desecrated?
I have confronted 2 Bishops. One became angry the other was ho hum.
An older lady I knew ripped balloons from the hands of Jesus on the large crucifix over the altar ,the burlap off the altar and the stuffed animals from the sanctuary all advertising the parish Carnival.
The more people who post the pictures the more Catholics will know what is going on.

Gee did you know GK Chesterdon was an antisemite? I sure didn’t.
“Jewish historians attack G.K. Chesterton as a “virulent anti-semite”, revealing hatred for Christ and His Church”
https://torontocatholicwitness.blogspot.com/2018/06/jewish-historians-attack-gk-chesterton.html
But I guess it is all okay with the Nervous Orditers since it is Tradional Catholicism being attacked again.
A Green Catholic?
Is he sick to his stomach?
I am reminded of communist atheistic Gorbachev’s “Green Cross”.
“Environmental Justice Ministry”?
Does he make sure the coffee and donuts are followed by making sure the biodegradables are separated into the correct waste bins? Collect monies for solar panels on the Church roofs? Teach parishioners how to plant trees?
Everything has to be politically correct including discrediting GK Chesterdon as an antisemite and no one blinks an eye while traditional and historical truth takes a back seat to the propaganda of modernism.
Home schoolers were never insular , in fact the majority of their children are exposed to more positive multi aged socialization through the arts and sports ,than those who spend long hours in an institutional classroom with same aged children who are just as immature as they are. Historically this is why children who worked on farms with their parents and extended family or in apprenticeships matured much earlier than the youth of today.
A new record! Just 6 comments before someone started whining about Jews, completely out of context. And without the prompting of SA-Mann AdolphusJr.
Blunderpuss once again white knights for the perfidious Jews, yet has nothing to say against the filth of the Judas Council.
Merely trolling.
No Alphonse, he is trolling to normalize the homosexual agenda within the Church as evidenced by the re post of his comments likening the vice of sodomy to gluttony ,alcoholism etc. ( see repost of his pro hx comments near the end of the previous blog post comments.)
Please read this lengthy article to really understand how Catholic documents “Always Our Children” and the CCC have reshaped the Truth in favor of the many homosexual clerics and prelates within the church structure and I DO MEAN, MANY.
https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/world-renowned-expert-homo-tyranny-is-upon-us-in-the-catholic-church?utm_source=LifeSiteNews.com&utm_campaign=3cc3fe77d4-Catholic_5_31_2018&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_12387f0e3e-3cc3fe77d4-402201201
Blunder uses almost the exact same tactics as Fr James Martin equating orthodox (Traditional) Catholics to hate
mongers, antisemites, racists , fascists etc. Also, his free use of “colloquialisms” relating to male genitalia indicates his true motivations behind his postings. It is best not to respond to his pro homosexual ideology and give him a platform.
Alphonse ,While I do not believe CMtv is Traditional Catholicism in anyway, I post this link so you can see how Martin’s rhetoric against what he calls the “Alt Right” is very similar to Blunder’s
against Trad Catholics.
https://news.vice.com/en_us/article/eva5pk/recovered-gay-man-is-leading-the-catholic-churchs-alt-right-movement
I am confused sweep. Why did you bring GK Chesterton into the conversation? Louie didn’t mention him…unless I missed it.
The “Blunder Show” has begun. Thanks to those who read his comments and feel obliged to respond. It’s getting boring and always “off topic”. It isn’t fair to Louie.
Because 2 Vermont , I considered the fact that Traditional Catholics are being attacked like never before, whether it is a historical Catholic figure who is studied in the neo con independent Catholic Colleges or a home schooling family at a TLM as Mr Wright did. Plenty of neo con NO Catholics home school also, but that is not mentioned.
I am noting that now the modernists ( pro homosexualists ) are targeting Trads and Neo Cons en masse because both groups are awakened to what Borgolio truly is.
IMHO , in response to rising numbers of Catholics rejecting his heterodoxy , Borgolio recently likened abortion to the holocaust. Doublespeak is not going to fool too many again as it did in previous Pontificates .Hopefully NO neo cons will move in the direction of Traditional Catholicism as a growing number of the disgusted nervous ordo catholics take sides.
As mentioned in the “Vice” article video I posted , Catholics are taking sides. Novus Ordo “Church of Nice” is being recognized as pro hx.
TLM Catholics are being labeled with hate names by the opposition.
I agree it is getting boring and you are correct advising he be ignored, but is certainly not off topic. Mr Wrong , I mean Wright has categorized attendees at the TLM as “insular” and cutting themselves off from the norm while the hard core novus ordo modernist pro homosexualist , like our troll, also labels Traditional Catholics as haters of one stripe or another.
Louie, hope you won’t mind….
He might as well be Jesus on the way to Golgotha.
http://catholicism.org/cardinal-sarah-and-the-prisoner.html
The Borg is the anti Traditional pro homosexualist hero.
Slanting any Catholic article by siding with him that Trads are “too rigid” , is a thinly veiled attempt for orthodox Catholic credibility to an audience.
You are absolutely correct Sweep. G.K. Chesterton has gone to his reward and they aren’t worried about interfering with his beatification. Calling him anti Semitic is an assault and a smear on Catholics living right now. I agree that you are right on topic as usual.
Hello Sweep/2V, How do you define what a “traditionalist” is? In Caritas responds in 10, 9, 8 . . . .
Favorite GKC quote: “You should know a person is Catholic by the way he climbs a tree.”
LennyB, I don’t think that In Caritas comments anymore. I haven’t seen him respond to anything for quite some time.
Right, but raising the question of whether or not the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass (TLM) has ceased per Matthew 24:15/Daniel 11:31 would usually provoke his presence.
No, my2cents.
The original article was an attack on a much more widely read article that expressed, apparently, insufficient appreciation for the Latin Mass for the author’s taste and therefore warranted condemnation, both of the article and any other Traditonalists who liked it. I counted zero mentions of Jews or homosexuals.
The subsequent comments from sweepoutthefilth, plus a cameo by Adolphus, feature at least 16 mentions of Jews and homosexuals as somehow responsible for issues the Church has.
This is an oddly obsessive behavior and a serious disease from which Traditonalists seem to suffer as a group. And precisely why they are and will remain on the fringe.
If you don’t believe me, try interjecting bigoted nonsense into everyday conversations the way people do here. When a waiter says, “I’m sorry, sir, but we’re out of the special this evening”, stand up, yell at him to go back to his native country, and loudly declare to the room that the gays ate all the sea bass and that the Jews (and probably Masons) are conspiring to force you to eat meat on Friday by controlling the supply of fish. See what reaction you get.
If people keep spouting this kind of garbage, I’m going to keep calling them out.
You keep “calling them out.” You are one of the greatest, self-appointed, one trick pony trolls I have evah seen! So if they all apologize for their anti-Semitic hating, what would you do? Move on to another “trad” blog to vanquish anti-Semitism there too? It’s a tough job but your just the guy to get it done! You should start now.
Old G.K. was and is so far above and beyond what passes for journalism that these detractors of him really haven’t much of clue about him…and it’s safe to say that isbecause he had the Faith, saw reality therefore with the eyes of Faith, and wrote with the perspective that seeing reality with the Faith gives one, unlike the manifestly faithless people who dominate the various and sundry news media outlets.
It all just degenerates, if not is already overtly intended for the purpose of, agitating people. That’s very often for many people a form of temptation. Therefore, best to ignore it.
*into…agitating.
Correction.
I just asked NOW about this yesterday bc he stated that, “the true Catholic Church cannot die.” I asked why, if Jesus Christ died, descended into Hell and then rose again and the Church is supposed to follow in the Passion of Christ. He basically said, she just can’t die, it’s dogmatic and heresy to believe that she can. It reminded me of when +Fellay said in has recent conference that it’s dogma that there will be a Pope until the end of the world. I want to go to Mass and receive the Sacraments as much as these gentlemen but I have real concern because everyone is saying, “Lo, here is Christ.” Now, I am probably off topic, .
Hi Louie,
I for one am happy for Mr. Wright discovering (albeit slowly) the ancient and authentic Catholic Faith expressed in the traditional Roman Rite of the Mass. His testimony and its publication in Commonweal can probably inform and inspire many Modenists to attend the Vetus Ordo who otherwise would likely never give it a second thought except maybe to repudiate it.
I am also happy that Rorate Caeli commended him for his effort to publicly praise a form of liturgical prayer to a group of people who most likely have no personal experience of it and yet are filled with bigoted disdain for it and all who seek to worship God in that manner.
Let’s face it, Mr. Wright, for all his theological, philosophical, and political errors, can probably reach more Modernists and help them to open their minds and hearts to the transcendent truth, goodness, and beauty of the TLM than can Catholics since Modernists will reject them out of hand as racists, sexists, homophobes, xenophobes, etc.
I am totally committed to the Social Reign of Christ over every individual, family, and nation. I would like nothing more than to see the restoration of Christendom. However, to advance the cause of Christ the King we first need to have Catholics and as you yourself said: ” lex orandi statuat legem credendi – the law of prayer establishes the law of belief.” Nothing can help the Church more to initiate and form Catholics than the TLM.
So, I say, welcome to Mr. Wright and all other Modernists and casualties of the Novus Ordo. I won’ expect them to understand and agree with every aspect of the Catholic Faith, including the doctrine of the Social Reign Christ, as a condition to welcome them to the Vetus Ordo and to rejoice in their participation in the true worship of Almighty God. I don’t believe most Modernists will first embrace the true Catholic Faith and then seek the TLM but rather more will come to the true Faith by participating in the TLM.
For my part, I will try to remember Isaiah 42:3 (A bruised reed he will not break, and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out. In faithfulness he will bring forth justice) and St. Matthew 12:20 (A bruised reed He will not break, and a smoldering wick He will not extinguish, till He leads justice to victory).
Let’s be gentle with these Modernists in welcoming them to the TLM and in accompanying them in their often slow journey of conversion to becoming Catholics. (While none the less challenging them in truth and charity if they seek to spread any heresy among true believers).
I’ve mentioned before I’m in sales and have met with hundreds of customers pretty regularly in my niche business selling lighting solutions. Now get this, I’ve know a grand total of 4 open homosexuals. 4. Yep you read that right 4.
So the studies that show only about 3 percent of the population is homosexual read true to me.
So Sweep and his/her fellow travelers and useful idiots would make absolutely terrible triage nurses. You’re going to worry about 3 percent of the population while you have rampant masturbation, adultery, contraception, cohabitation, etc?
The only reasonable explanation for why this happens is that there is a right wing political agenda at work. You can’t very well complain about adultery when your hero is the current occupant of the White House who had sex with a porn star while his third “wife” was nursing his youngest son.
But God, in the end, is not mocked. And it is He who said, “It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, then it is for a rich man to enter the Kingdom”.
I totally agree. Unfortunately many TLM goers that I have come across are still not very sound on all Catholic doctrines. I see this often. Married clergy who with their wife do not live as brother and sister and the heresy of NFP all sound very foreign to most of them. Most of them seem shocked when I tell them this.
My husband and I were about to attend a TLM which, to my surprise, was to be said by a married incontinent so called priest. My husband asked him if he was living as if he were a brother to his wife. He was totally insulted and stamped off in disgust. Needless to say we did not attend this scheduled mass due to the scandal his presence to us would cause our faith and the serious Catholic doctrines that are supported by continent/celibacy for clergy.
My point here is that doctrine comes before liturgy even if the liturgy performed outwardly expresses more clearly Catholic doctrine. We all get that no females are allowed as altar servers at the TLM but do we also understand as TLM Catholics that all married clergy and married permanent deacons are to be properly instructed along with the modern day lay faithful that it was always understood and practised that the traditional practise and teachings of the Catholic Church are that married clergy are to live as brother and sister with regards to their wife. This wasn’t just some arbitrary discipline. This was a serious discipline that needed to be practised in order to safeguard the DOCTRINES of the Church that justify celibacy for the priesthood and the clergy. The priest CONFIGURES Christ. He is not some ordinary layman like a Protestant or Baptist minister speaking what they perceive to be Christ’s teachings. Our Catholic priests and clergy are to CONFIGURE CHRIST. Christ was celibate because Christ had ONE ONLY ONE BRIDE, THE CATHOLIC CHURCH! Not two brides. A man shall leave family, mother and WIFE to follow Him. (sacred Scripture) ( Notice it doesn’t say to leave one’s husband)This of course is all done with the wife’s agreement before his ordination happens or else he cannot be ordained.
If all these so called married priest and permanent deacons were never instructed in this immemorial teaching and practise it can be conceded that perhaps they are not solely to blame. Nonetheless their attempted ordinations to the priesthood and permanent deaconatry are riddled with serious impedements and therefor, from what I can see, these ordinations are not valid and these attempted ordinations must be reinstructed and revisited for those men along with their wives who wish to renounce their marital rights in order for their husband to be ordained VALIDLY? These married incontinent so called deacons and priests are a scandal to the Catholic Church and its doctrines on marriage and the priesthood.
The Eastern Rite Catholics I am sure would hate to hear what I am saying because that puts them in the same boat as all those so called Traditionalist TLMass goers who pride themselves on their attachment to a traditional liturgy but fall seriously short on accepting all Catholic doctrine on the priesthood and marriage.
Wrong Ganganelli ,
Sodomy is incompatible with Priestly Ministry whether you are a novus ordo modernist identifying as a catholic or an orthodox Traditional Catholic.
https://www.wgbh.org/news/2016/12/15/news/pope-francis-needs-his-gay-priests
“The Rev. Donald B. Cozens, author of “The Changing Face of the Priesthood,” wrote that with more than half the priests and seminarians being gay,”
Stinking sodomites are indeed a small part of the population, but like the perfidious Jews, their toxic impact is radically disproportionate to their numbers.

I should have proofread more thoroughly my grammar . Sorry for the lack of proper commas and wording on most sentences like the sentence where I meant to say “Most were shocked to learn that continence was required for married clergy” and I put a question mark where there shouldn’t be a question. Next time I will try to be less hurried and more careful in my writting.

….excerpts from my comment posted in March 2016, on other Catholic blog……I still stand by it……sigh!
It is almost astonishing, that none of the ‘trads’ Catholics have made at least once the mention of Marco Rubio’s sincere profession of his Catholic faith (a Catholic candidate, and please don’t tell me that he was such and such Catholic, if such, then we are all such Catholics, guilty of sin, in need of repentance), how about when in one of the first debates, Marco was told that he has a reputation of being a ‘savior’ of the Republicans……did any of you sleep on your ears?……did you hear what his response was?…….Marco said; ‘the only savior that I know of is Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, who died on the Cross for our sins!
Did any of you get that? I have heard many debates over the years, and not once did I ever hear a candidate who is running for the President, who would use the Name of Jesus Christ (yes, they use God, but only for their gain, hypocrites!), not one ever said that Jesus Christ died on the Cross for our SINS! SIN is no longer used in the English vocabulary……..
How about, when Marco was interviewed by the hypocrite O’Riley, who was criticizing Marco for attacking Trump, and that many people were disappointed at him. Courageous Marco said……Yes, I understand, and I don’t want my children to be ashamed of their father, but above all I do not want to offend Jesus……..looking at O’Reiley he repeated…….Yes, I said I do not want to offend Jesus.
How about when he was interviewed again and asked what he will do if he does not win…….Rubio said; ‘If it’s God’s Will, I will be the next President of United States, if not, I will go on with my life.’ At his last speech, closing his campaign, he said, between the lines…….’It was not God’s Will.’
Do I think that Marco was the best candidate, No!, and I do not know one that is. But with God (faith) all things are possible, and that was to be to his advantage……but God Knows best! My point is, why none of the Catholics were impressed, and prayed for him. I checked on all so-called Catholic blogs, NOT ONE cared to even mention the courageous Marco Rubio. This only proves, that Catholics do not care……Americanism ‘rules’, above Catholicism.
Let us remember, patriotism is a virtue, but Americanism is a heresy. Father Frederick Faber, said that ‘where there is no hatred of heresy there’s no holiness.’ If, I may add, ‘where there is no holiness, there’s no fear of God!’
Catholic America!…….nothing less than a ‘fides intrepida’ + ‘fearless faith’!
“Rome was not voted into a Christian Empire but converted into one. Hence, if the social Kingship of Christ is to be a reality, it will not be done at the ballot box nor through political action, which require compromise to succeed. It will come first by Catholic Americans abandoning the religion of ‘Americanism’….and realizing that they live in a heathen country which must be converted.” (“Should Catholics Be Conservatives?” by Charles Coulombe. The Angelus, Oct. 1993).
Ps. When President Trump was waving with his Bible, claiming that it’s his favorite book, ‘Catholics’ were cheering in ‘ecstasy,’ forgetting that ‘his’ Protestant Bible, was what the holy Inquisitors were burning…….
St. Jerome, pray for us Catholics!
From http://www.politifact.com/florida/statements/2016/jan/29/marco-rubio/did-marco-rubio-flip-flip-amnesty/, “While a senator, Rubio co-authored the Gang of Eight bill in 2013 that included a pathway to citizenship. Ahead of the release of the bill, Rubio said that the proposal ‘is not amnesty.’” This is why.
Since we are still commenting, I believe with St. Leonard of Port Maurice that the earthly cessation of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass is coterminous with the complete and final destruction of the world:
“VII. But if the intrinsic wonder and glory of the Sacrifice move you not, be moved at least by the extreme necessity for its existence.
If there were no sun to shine on the world, what would it be? All darkness, horror, barrenness, and misery supreme. And if there were not holy Mass in the world? O unhappy race! We should then be vessels empty of every good, and full of evil to the brim; we should be a mark for all the thunders of the wrath of God. Some are surprised at its really seeming as if since ancient times our good God had in some sort changed His mode of government. He then caused Himself to be called the God of armies and of battles, and spoke to the people from the midst of clouds, with lightnings in His hand. He then chastised sin with all the rigor of justice. For one adultery there fell by the edge of the sword 25,000 of the tribe of Benjamin. For the pride of David in numbering the people He sent a pestilence so malignant that quickly 70,000 persons were no more. For one curious and somewhat irreverent look He overthrew in frightful slaughter more than 50,000 of the Betsamites. And now He will bear
with patience not only vanities and frivolities, but adulteries the most base, scandals the most iniquitous, and blasphemies the most revolting, vomited forth against His most holy Name by many Christians every hour of the day. How comes this? Why so great a difference of government? Are, perhaps, our sins of in gratitude more excusable than those of old? Quite the contrary.
They are very much more culpable, since there is the addition of benefits so immeasurable. The true reason of a clemency so stupendous is the holy Mass, in which is offered to the Eternal Father the great Victim — Jesus. Behold the Sun of holy Church, that scatters the clouds and renders Heaven again serene! Behold the heavenly Rainbow, pacifying the storms of divine justice!
For myself, I believe that were it not for holy Mass, at this moment the world would be in the abyss, unable to bear up under the mighty load of its iniquities. Mass is the potent prop that holds the world upon its base.”
Did I write that he was perfect? Is there one amongst us?
For more than 200 years, ‘we the people’ promote the ‘rights of man’…..gradually eating away at the RIGHTS OF GOD!
That’s a good thought and I’m no Saint but the Bible sure makes it sound like people will be here. Why would it be mentioned if it was coterminous with the final destruction of the world? They place there an abomination, so that means the world exists in that moment; there is atleast some amount of time before destruction. I suppose it could be seconds only, but it seems to me this was a warning not simply an observation. I don’t like being without the Papacy and trusting in some guys to tell me, oh yeah it’s good to receive our illicit Sacraments but not their illicit Sacraments because of thus and such. Yes, there is an emergency but I think if you want the Sacraments you’d better get a Pope and if it is God’s will that you can’t do that, you can’t just say well, I’m taking my Sacraments anyway because I want them. I guess I just think if the Lord decrees that the continual Sacrifice shall be taken away, it’s not going to go well for you if you say, “Oh no It won’t be.”
Sorry Anastasia but it was Jesus who said His Ministers could be married and that some would remain celibate for Heaven’s sake.
In the Early Church priests were married but not so with Bishops.
By 1200 Rome decided Church properties that were sustained by donations from the Faithful should not be left to the eldest son of the priest. That was when the celibate priesthood in the Latin Church became strictly established.
This was one thing the Orthodox considered as a break with Tradition committed by the Latin Rite Church of Rome.
Christ’s Word is considered Doctrinal.
Ganganelli I remind you.
Most Catholics are familiar with the term mortal sin. Mortal sins deprive the soul of grace. They are serious transgressions of God’s law, done freely and deliberately with a clear understanding of what they are. Their result is to deny a soul entrance to heaven.
There are particular mortal sins that are so evil that they are said to be sins that cry to heaven for vengeance: murder (Gn 4:10), sodomy (Gn 17:20-21), oppression of the poor (Ex 2:23), and defrauding workers of their just wages (Jas 5:4).
He’s busy writing a 500,000 word reply to a comment someone made six weeks ago.
continuing long the same thought ……Men who were married before Ordination were permitted both in the East and Western Catholic Churches , mainly because these men provided a pool of more mature men for Ministry.
That trend is being introduced again into Eastern Rites now in America where they were forbidden since the twenties. It is a matter of fact that priests who engage in pederasty do have a stunted psychological maturity level aside from a serious impediment to the priesthood.
Chaste hetero young males willing to remain celibate who have vocations now are shrinking in numbers as they do not want to co habitate in rectories with sodomites. See

Remember a non married priesthood is a discipline and not doctrine.

Full Donald Trump speech at Israel Museum, Jerusalem
Last March I went on a pilgrimage to Holy Land with the Society of Saint Pius X. Couple people were wearing the ‘famous’ hats ‘Make America Great Again’……..while traveling in Palestine, after 3 days, the hats were never seen again.
What an eye opener was the pilgrimage to the Holy Land……Bethlehem in Palestine (where ‘et Verbum Caro Factum Est…’), surrounded by a 25ft cement wall, with electric wires on top. Where Christians and Arabs live together in no men’s land, in poverty and misery.
In ‘Israel’……’sigh!’…..60% Jews, 40% Muslims, 1.2% Christians……the rest are Mormons, Evangelicals (the beloved), who together with the Jews are planning the rebuilding of the third Temple…..millions of American dollars are pouring in. It’s all part of the deadly facade and charades of American politics.
As my wise friend said; “Conservatives are more dangerous than liberals, because they can get away with more apostasy, treason, terrorism and totalitarian tyranny than their liberal counterparts.
Good people tend to go back to sleep when a “conservative” is in office, thinking they are safe and secure.
IT’S SATAN’S WAY OF PREPARING THE SHEEP FOR THE COMING SLAUGHTER.”
History is our best teacher…….this ignorance is a world disaster.
Viva Cristo Rey!
Sorry Sweep I believe you have some serious studying to do. May I recommend that a good place to start is with Father Christian Cochini’s book “Apostolic Origins of Priestly Celibacy”. Perfect and perpetual continence for married clergy was expected since apostolic times. This book is an amazing wealth of information from apostolic times and onward that proves what was taught and understood by this discipline and what all the Curch fathers through many very early Councils and consistantly afterward that confirms the perfect and perpetual continence required for married clergy.
So sorry to hear that you believe that a married incontinent priesthood is Catholic. It was the Easren Rite that veared away from the Traditionsand doctrines that justfy priestly celibacy and it was they that introduced the novelty of incontinence for their married priests.
Honestly, I am sick of the personal attacks and name calling on every Catholic website that allows comments and understand why so many have eliminated them.
Please, please can you stop these personal attacks and name calling? What does it accomplish? What about those who have just found Louie’s website and are looking for the Truth and direction? Will they want to return again and again?

Thankyou Anastasia, I will order the book . I do wonder however, if it’s author was familiar with the Greek language as evidenced by comments to the same in this article. I know the Orthodox practice continence for quite some time prior to the Divine Liturgy.

Anastasia , glancing at several pages from the book you recommend ,specifically pg 382 , are you sure you have the right interpretational conclusions you state above? It appears as Jesus stated that for some to remain celibate for Heaven’s sake ,as a superior state, it by no means condemns a married priesthood and neither did St John according to the quote in this text. The following makes the point that celibacy is different from continency prior to prayer or the Holy Sacrifice. There is chastity in marriage also to consider.

Unfortunately, Katherine, what you’re seeing is the practical face of American Traditonalism. It starts with the idea of being a better Catholic and ends with white supremacy.
Consider this a lesson in what to avoid. Find a Latin Mass you like? Fantastic. Attend it, if it helps your Faith.
But when the Priest says that God made Blacks “lower down”, when the gossipy Trad wives condemn NFP while spreading lies about other parishioners’ failure to sufficiently procreate (by their standards), or when someone blames everything bad on Jews or gays, realize that that particular community or parish is infected and move on to one that has a Latin Mass and actually lives the basics of the Gospel.
Fair warning: it won’t be easy. But if you find a good parish – and it might be a *gasp* Novus Ordo one – it’ll be worth it.
So a path to citizenship/amnesty for non-criminal, taxpaying, hardworking illegals is un-Catholic? Interesting.
I’m all for sealing the borders, but have you ever met a real, live Mexican who works for a living here – legal or not?
You don’t know what a work ethic is until you’ve talked to one. Or hired one.
Oh, and they’re almost all Catholic.
Bugman, it’s always best to provide correct attribution. The horrible “white supremacist” (LOL!) you mention is no mere priest, but rather a bishop; specifically, Bishop Richard Williamson. And here again is the context of his excellent, utterly sane, really real words:
“Any inequality today is a horror. For the Catholic Church [the actual Catholic Church, not the post Second Vatican Council abomination represented by the perfidious likes of Pope Francis], it’s not at all a horror. God has designed everything unequal, practically everything: the flowers, the animals, the plants, the mountains, the nations, the peoples, the races, the sexes, the individuals, everything in God’s creation is unequal. What God plans is a great variety, and an order in the variety, with some things higher and some things lower. And St. Paul says in the Epistle to the Romans, ‘Don’t start questioning God on why he put this lower and put that higher.’ It’s like a building, that stone is lower than that stone and that stone is higher…. Compare blacks with whites, broadly speaking, blacks will be superior in some things and whites will be superior in others. But generally speaking, the blacks are lower down on the wall and the whites are meant to be higher up on the wall. That’s just the way it is. That’s the reality. When the whites stopped doing what they should be doing, which is leading the blacks, then….”
-Bp. Richard Williamson (2008 lecture on The Sillon, No. 3 in the Stockholm Conferences 2008 audio series at the St. Marcel Initiative website)
And yet, God gave your lilly-white self small hands, small feet, [insert other medically and scientifically correlated small stuff], PLUS the hardship of being winded when you walk DOWNhill (per your YouTube) because of – guessing here – your diabetic obesity.
Perhaps you should step back, take look at that hierarchy, and reconsider.
LOLOLOL
Melanie, the theologian Dorsch said the following, which you’ve probably seen before:
“The Church therefore is a society that is essentially monarchical. But this does not prevent the Church, for a short time after the death of a pope, or even for many years, from remaining deprived of her head. Her monarchical form also remains intact in this state.
Thus the Church is then indeed a headless body. Her monarchical form of government remains, though then in a different way — that is, it remains incomplete and to be completed. The ordering of the whole to submission to her Primate is present, even though actual submission is not.
For this reason, the See of Rome is rightly said to remain after the person sitting in it has died — for the See of Rome consists essentially in the rights of the Primate. These rights are an essential and necessary element of the Church. With them, moreover, the Primacy then continues, at least morally. The perennial physical presence of the person of the head, however is not so strictly necessary.”
While it is in an extremely undesirable and imperfect state at the moment, the Church continues doing what she has always done. The Sacrifice has not yet been taken away, so you ought to attend it if it is valid.
In Caritas is not the magisterium, nor does he/she have any power to attempt to bind anyone else to his/her decisions.
The current issue and what to do about it is not yet clear in our time, so Catholics should just keep doing what Catholics have always done until the situation is definitely resolved.
Read his words, Katherine. Read them slowly and carefully, and consider with whom you snooze to ally yourself.
Choose. Not snooze lol

You’re defending a white supremacist.
And simultaneously claiming to be more Catholic than Pope Francis.

“There can never be true peace as long as a single human being is violated in his or her personal identity.”
Bugman, it’s not hard to be more Catholic than Pope Francis. It only requires being Catholic.
Sweep, I can’t thank you enough for the Orthodox Study Bible recommendation. It seems to be the perfect translation/commentary for me. The commentary is flat out amazing, although I am worried about steering to Eastern Orthodox at this rate 🙂 I don’t need any more confusion right now, I’m already overwhelmed.
Compared to something like the NAB-RE, and it’s mind blowing how horrible some modern commentaries are.
Now that you’ve settled my bible dilemma, I’m curious of your opinion (or anyone here) about my other major struggle I’m having…the Rosary.
I can probably guess everyone’s answer but does anyone here pray the Luminous Mysteries? It’s what I’ve been doing since I first started my journey back…before I started learning about Tradition. I truly believe the Rosary has led me on this path to real Catholicism yet that includes these mysteries. I really do like praying them.
At the time, I had no idea these were added fairly recently. This concerns me a bit. Not sure if it should though.
You are most welcome. I have had the same comments in many emails from friends. I do not know if it was you Isles, but someone asked me about another book I recommended.
That one concerned the Shroud and the Templars and is very interesting since it was written by Barabara Frale a Vatican Secret Library archivist who, while researching for her Thesis from the U of Venice, discovered some fascinating ancient documents in the Vatican Library. Propaganda was/is rife in both the Eastern and Western parts of the early Christian world and the so called Great Schism is not as simple a matter as either side would have us believe. Actual ancient documents
tell another story closest to the Truth.

As for the Rosary? I pray the Three Mysteries I was taught from my childhood finding that said with confidence and meditation , by the fourth decade I am overwhelmed with a sense of peace. The East has what is called the Jesus Prayer which is even older and considered the oldest Christian Psalter.
I love to pray it especially when I am not in a place of meditation and am driving or before I fall asleep. It has always been recommended to be prayed with breaths which calms the mind and brings one to focus on Our Beloved Savior and our littleness and sins while begging for His Mercy.
Ultimately it is Satan who divided Our Lord Jesus’ Church on earth and he continues to do it today . Back in the First millenium he used language differences (Latin vs Greek) , distances in location , personal greed and lust for power to divide the Church. Today it s not much different because human nature is still the same. That is why we need the Word of God as a compass .
Another excellent read is the “Decline and Fall of the Roman Church” by Malachi Martin ,1981.
Having once been a Scriptural scholar and linguist in the Vatican , he also uses historical texts from which he quotes Popes and Princes.
I would love to tell him ( Francis) there can never be true peace as long as we personally cannot get over violating ourselves and realize peace only comes from accepting Our Creator as Lord of both our souls and bodies.
Isles, both the Eastern Catholic and Orthodox practice having a personal Rule. Before a favorite icon those who want to deepen their spirituality even more ,pray a private set of prayers or prayer of their choice .A favorite Psalm or Psalms are often recommended . One of mine is linked to the Roman Catholic devotion of the Holy Face….”Arise Oh Lord and show Thy Face and let those who hate Your Commandments flee…” Another is Psalm 85 in the center of the Bible you now have, starting on the lower left page right before the icon of “Our Mother of Tenderness” and continuing to the next page. A copy of that icon welled up with tears of oil after a friend of mine kissed it on Mother’s Day on the center icon table before and during the Divine Liturgy ( Mass) ,being said by a wonderful priest friend of ours.
The so-called Luminous Mysteries are no part of the Rosary. They’re sublime of course, but are no part of the Rosary, which was given to us as 15 mysteries. See:

Trump is a “thrice married” man (yes , I know that this term is a joke) who supports the homosexual agenda and previously (if not still) supported the murder of unborn children. I didnt support Trump….and I never will support Trump. I had an obligation to vote for the lesser of two evils when it came to him and Hillary…..and I chose…..as I believe that I am obligated as a Catholic to do….the lesser of the two evils, which was Trump.

Sounds like the author likes the Traditional Mass for emotional and aesthetic reasons.
Yes 2 Cents , he has done more than any other President to defund abortionists .He has executed more orders than any other President to arrest and halt the work of pederasts and child traffickers .More arrests than any other President against child pornographers and sex traffickers.
I have met many and along with Fr Mungari ,(RIP) a Pallotine Fatima priest, we supplied them with hundreds of rosaries and Rosary booklets to take back to their remote villages.
This was after one foreman went to his boss, the owner of a large landscaping and growing company and reported a miraculous experience the night before.
He prayed nightly before pictures of Our Lord and Our Lady above the sink in his trailer. The owner’s wife called me asking me to come over . He was truly elated and that is why I made sure he got the rosaries for his family and his village.
No priest had EVER told them about the Rosary ! I do not think they even had a church.
You assume they ARE Catholic. Not all . A nation in which the leaders have professed to be members of Regnum Christi ( LC Vincenti Fox and his first wife) and Carlos Slim , billionaire friend of the late disgraced bi sexual pedophile Maciel ,have raped these people of faith in the Church.
The extremely wealthy and corrupt Catholic politicians and leaders in Mexico have seen to it their people are kept in poverty and colluded with the “catholic” freemasonic politicians and businessmen who, along with the drug cartels and M13 and the like, run Mexico.
More Mexicans than not have lost Faith in the institutional Church and only associate with priests to escape into America illegally.

He is not just a mere “hater” . He has a definite agenda.
Yes because it is also quiet before and after the TLM, unlike the Nervous Ordeo and one can contemplate why they went to Mass in the first place,. To give Honor and Glory to God and not to be entertained.

Donald Trump, as long as he promotes in various ways Satan’s Culture of Death, will not free America from the “carnage”
THE ‘TRADS’ TOOK THE BAIT…….Trump will save America, and as some ‘Catholics’ ‘foolishly’ think, he’ll save the Church!!!……….
DIABOLICAL DISORIENTATION…..PROVIDENCE!
Sadly, it is the mother who bears the greatest sin of abortion–unless she was extremely coerced or kidnapped against her will. All others could say they were merely providing a service requested by the mother. Of course, they are wrong and will pay the ultimate price at the time of judgement.
Borgolio Cardinal supporter .Big surprise?

“Dear Member of the Family of the Archdiocese:
At the request of Cardinal Timothy Dolan, I write to share some sad and sobering news. Earlier this morning, Cardinal Theodore McCarrick, Archbishop-Emeritus of Washington, DC, and a former priest of this archdiocese, released a statement announcing that an allegation of abuse had been made against him, and that the allegation was found to be credible and substantiated by the Archdiocesan Review Board.
Because the alleged abuse occurred during the years that Cardinal McCarrick was a priest of this archdiocese, the Holy See delegated Cardinal Dolan to investigate the allegation. The requirements of the Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People, and the policy and procedures of the archdiocese were carefully followed throughout the entire process.
Attached to this email, please find statements from Cardinal Dolan, Cardinal McCarrick, and the Archdiocese of Washington. These will all be posted on the archdiocese’s website at http://www.archny.org.
I am sorry to have to bring you this news, but we know that you would prefer to hear such news from us directly, rather than through secondhand sources. Please pray for all victim-survivors, and for all those whose lives have been touched by the sin and crime of sexual abuse.”
Sincerely,
Joseph Zwilling

Our country is being victimized by a network of con-artist foreigners and America-hating left-wingers passing out fake papers, fake stories and fake scripts to Third-Worlders, who lie about seeking “asylum” to get in on the American gravy train and wreck our country. https://www.vdare.com/articles/ann-coulter-media-can-t-use-google-to-find-treason-lobby-acting-coaches
From Poland–Would Pres. Hillary Clinton have solved all these problems? Remember, she believes in partial birth abortion–Satan’s Culture of Death in the extreme.
With all due respect to Don Julio, not as foundational and expansive as: “The Undermining of the Catholic Church” by Mary Ball Martinez http://theradtrad.blogspot.com/2014/07/book-review-undermining-of-catholic.html. The prevailing “Trad” myth is that the calling of V2 is the beginning of the end for the Catholic Church but it is really just the “coda” for the prior 60 years of infiltration by the “Rampola Network”. Likely an Ordo Templi Orientis brother of Aleister Crowley, Cardinal Rampola groomed/trained/networked protégés who would make Maritain’s integral humanist vision for the Church a reality: Giacomo della Chiesa (BXV), Cardinal Pietro Gasparri, Bishop Radini-Tedeschi of Bergamo and Eugenio Pacelli (PXII) mentor to Montini/ PVI). The Rampolla Network (with it’s confirmed and unconfirmed ties to Free Masonry, Communism, and international Jewry(Rothschild) created the Novus Ordo Church in the first half of the 20th century. V2 was merely the perfunctory signing ceremony.
Sweep, it’s literally the 10th time you’ve said I used “sodomite porn language”. For the 10th time, I have to ask you – what exactly did I say? Or are you simply inventing things, as seems to be your habit?
Hey Katherine – still reading? See any problems with this comment from Father(land) Monk?
@my2cents……
You have obviously not read the above post about abortion…….what is greater evil?…..not surprised at all, this is part of blindness on the ‘chosen in Christ!’
As ‘Rich’, I have also voted for the lesser evil ‘Trump’…..clearly, all are puppets of the New World Order!
“Evil may have its hour, but God will have His day!!!”
(Bp. Sheen)
That’s definitely sage advice TPS! The Novus Ordo Church is more akin to the false Church of the Arian Crisis not the big show, finis mundi Apocalyptic AntiChrist Church. V2 can be repudiated and abjured just like the “Robber” Council of Ephesus was by a later Council (Chalcedon).
The Papal Subject, I don’t think that present circumstance can be described as undesirable or imperfect. A false Primacy has been installed that is accepted by Catholics, even if they are NO, I consider them Catholics as they reasonably think they are. Many offer up attending a sacrilegious fake service to God as a cross to bear. In other words, confusion reigns. Her monarchical form is NOT intact in this state, because there is an entire fake church. +Lefebvre did not claim authority over any popes nor dispute their claims to the Primacy. And +Thuc, I can’t even really get a handle on the deal there, but whatever authority he wielded certainly seemed clandestine. What Catholics in their despair over VII, could look to +Thuc, who even heard of him but a few? This is why normies dismiss sedevacantism out of hand bc there is no monarchical structure there, at all. The only reason I even consider it, is because I figure it’s the end of the world not because I see any monarchy in exile. There is no Pope because there is no structure to go into a conclave and elect a Pope. I will make it my mission to wrap my head around +Thuc but if he doesn’t look like a monarchical form than I’m sticking w/it’s Apocalypse. If he was the very last man standing in a Catholic Monarchy that had been demolished, than why didn’t he elect himself Pope?
Thank you, I found the online version of it. Never heard of him before but I like brief sample I read…very thorough.
Clearly, you aren’t too familiar with many Mexicans. They are as catholic as the Irish.
Regarding mass immigration, have you talked to working Mexican-American US citizens? They make Anne Coulter look like a softy. You need to quit listening to the Mexicans that are on tv and go talk to some real Mexican-Americans.
I opened my book “Apostolic Origins of Priestly Celibacy” to your page referenced and I am confused because it doesn’t reference anything you mention. This book is not a book to glance at. Nor is this a book to google to see what those who don’t believe in a celibate priesthood have to say about it. This book, if I may quote the back of it says, ” This is the definitive scholarly statement on the discipline of priestly celibacy in the Church East and West. What Cochini shows through patristic sources and conciliar Docummentation is that from the beginning of the Church, although married men could be priests, they and their wives were required to vow celibacy before ordination, meaning they intended to live a life of continence. He provides EXTENSIVE ( my emphasis with caps) documentation, a bibliography and an index.
Also I need to point at, because I hear this so often that one just needs to be chaste in marriage to qualify for a pass to the priesthood. No this is not the case. Chastity and continence or two of the twelve fruits of the Holy Spirit. God will grant the charism of continence/ celibacy for those he calls. If a man or woman beleives they can never be perfect and pertually continence then they most likely are not being called to Holy Orders or the religious life.
Meant to say “are two of the gifts of the Holy Spirit”
“The massive invasion of illegal aliens into America is deliberate and calculated to bring about America’s downfall. Congress passed the Kennedy-Hawkins bill ‘which ended the immigration flow into this country from Western Europe and gave priority to immigrants from non-European (i.e. mostly non-Christian) countries and territories. (Vince Ryan, ‘Multiculturalism Brings Tyranny, not liberty,’ The Spotlight, Aug. 21,2000).
How can we effectively secure our borders?
Only one example, will suffice: We have long argued that the smartest and most moral course to follow would be to bring all U.S troops home from every trouble spot and foreign base in the world (who ever gave us the right to police the world at the expense of thousands of our sons’ lives and at the cost of trillions of our tax dollars?) and redeploy some of these forces to guard our unprotected borders. It’s one of the few legitimate functions of government to protect its own people, not to conduct military operations all over the globe. Doing this would save innumerable human lives, hundreds of billions of dollars and instantly secure our borders and protect our country from the ongoing invasion. Recalling our troops from the far corners of the globe would also go a long way to ending terrorism and reestablishing world peace.
Thanks mostly to Israel and our own Zionist leadership, we are the most hated nation on earth – and this puts our families, our communities and our country at enormous and unnecessary risk.”
(Hugh Akins, ‘Synagogue Rising’).
“Since Israel refused the true Messiah, it would give itself another messianism that is temporal and earthbound, dominating the world by money, Freemasonry, Revolution and social democracy………which has decapitated the Church and set up a worldwide socialist democracy.”
(Abp. Marcel Lefebvre)
The Church of Christ, men of Christian faith and charity, are always those who have brought to a humanity without hope – light, redemption and peace;
“JESUS CHRISTUS HERI ET HODIE, IPSE ET IN SAECULA;
JESUS CHRIST, YESTERDAY AND TODAY, THE SAME FOREVER.”
(Heb. 13:8; Pius XII, Allocution, ‘Nel vedere il cielo,’ to the young men of Italian Catholic Action, Sep. 12, 1948).
Here, Katherine, again, we have someone eager to blame Jews for, well, everything. Completely unrelated to the article. It’s like they can’t restrain themselves.
And while I absolutely think that our soldiers don’t belong in most of the places they are now, it is infantile fantasy to think you can simply walk away from allies and places where we’ve guaranteed other nations’ security and expect peace. Giving Putin and China a carte Blanche is a prescription for massive warfare.
“News” come on Joey the 80s called and they want their breaking story back. Everybody’s known about “Blanche” and the “sleepovers” for years now.
@Blunderbuss
Do you EVER look at the Crucifix and meditate?
Guess what? The enemy of Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, is still the same from the time of His Crucifixion……yesterday, today, and till the end of time.
Do you ever pray for the conversion of the enemy of Jesus Christ? That is Catholic charity…….saving souls, was always the mission of the Mother Church…….lest, you say come with me, straight to hell!!!
When I was growing up in Communist Poland, we knew the enemy, and trembled. Communism was never in disguise for all to see and feel…….today, the enemy is in a ‘white collar’, admired and flattered by deceived, and naive legions of people of ‘good will.’
“The federal government is now telling American citizens , that it is too dangerous because of armed smugglers from Mexico……No one can say the Serpent Cult is not brilliant. Diabolic but brilliant.” (not my words, but worth repeating).
Viva Cristo Rey y la Santísima Virgen de Guadalupe!
May Long live Christ the King and Our Lady of Guadalupe!
Hey Lenny B , looks like Blunder knows about “Blanche” too !
He wrote ,”Giving Putin and China a carte Blanche is a prescription for massive warfare.”
Too bad we didn’t put McCarrick in a cart and send him to Communist China or to Putin a long time ago.
I think Blunder needs to inform Joseph Zwilling, Director of Communications for the ArchDiocese of NY , that he and his jolly friend Dolan are slandering the Cardinal or making up lies , don’t you?
And the root is NFP and divorce.
The Hierarchy did NOTHING to help the Pro Life Movement.
Bish McHugh was their selected spokesman and he supported the March of Dimes with knowledge they were buying and using aborted fetal tissue in vaccines.

I heard first hand accounts from people who confronted him about it that he said, “What are you against progress?”after they showed him proof the March of Dimes was buying these poor baby’s aborted tissues.
FYI…….vaccines are not required to pass through clinical trials like other medications before distribution.
We ARE the clinical trial. Bill Gates whose father was Pres of the Rockefeller Planned Parenthood, wants a universal vaccine.

Lenny B,
Cardinal Law was known as “Bunny”.
Being a traditionalist is hard work, work many people don’t want to do.
Sitting in front of a crucifix and thinking about how much you hate Jews is not meditating. It’s actually rather blasphemous.
I am, too. But I come back time and again. Catholics come in all shades.
So McCarrick was known as “Blanche” and Law was known as “Bunny”. What more can be said about the Homo Hive that is AM Church?
Pure calumny! They’re definitely haters.
Let’s see Monsignore “Jessica” is known in Vatican City as Cdl Poletti’s old secretary and helps run one of the Vatican banks, Wuerl is know as “Wuerl the girl” and btw I hear on the 28th of this month he will be toasted and roasted in the GJ Report.
In the Carpatho Ruthenian Catholic Diocese the deceased Bishop Pitaki’s secretary was referred to as Fr “Geraldine” by some of the priests.
At the time I recall being quite confused until I found out first hand.
You must be a very confused person, maybe even in despair, since all you interpret in your confused mind is about hatred…….which speaks of your character……this must be the reason, why you still post on Louie’s blog…….Miserere!
You’re right, you for one, cannot possibly look at the Crucifix, and see Love, and Mercy for His enemy, granted, their hearts are repentant…….
I wish you much happiness in your life………
She most certainly can and she will pray for them since the Scriptures clearly state these Jews murdered and tortured Our Savior Jesus Christ !
It’s not hate to repeat the truth !
Are you even Christian because your knowledge of Christianity is abominable as is the filth you put in print attacking people here ?
Are you a homosexual because your defense of sodomy and sodomites is also atrocious?
You call love hate and hate love displaying a clear unanimity with those in the LGBTQ agenda.
This book is quite pricey at the moment.
Bugman, you seem blissfully unaware that actual (“traditional”) Catholics see the perfidious Jews, those supreme enemies of Christendom, as the cursed people they are. How much longer will our “anti-semitism” twist your panties?
“Pilate saith to them: What shall I do then with Jesus that is called Christ? They say all: Let him be crucified. The governor said to them: Why, what evil hath he done? But they cried out the more, saying: Let him be crucified. And Pilate seeing that he prevailed nothing, but that rather a tumult was made; taking water washed his hands before the people, saying: I am innocent of the blood of this just man; look you to it. And the whole people answering, said: His blood be upon us and our children.”
-Mt. 27:22-25
“[T]he Jews, who both killed the Lord Jesus, and the prophets, and have persecuted us, and please not God, and are adversaries to all men; Prohibiting us to speak to the Gentiles, that they may be saved, to fill up their sins always: for the wrath of God is come upon them to the end.
-1 Thess. 2:14-15
…and very painful.
@Katherine.
I think so. It is quite edifying to watch how morons should be dealt with. Given the effeminacy of our age, I find it quite refreshing.
As is usually the case, the side that has to resort to ad hominem attacks is losing.
Better clarity on the McCarrick situation .
STATEMENT REGARDING THE REMOVAL FROM MINISTRY OF CARDINAL THEODORE E. MC CARRICK
JUNE 20, 2018
FROM: ROBERT M. HOATSON, PH.D., CO- FOUNDER AND PRESIDENT OF ROAD TO RECOVERY, INC. – 862-368-2800
“I was ordained to the priesthood by Archbishop Theodore Mc Carrick on May 24, 1997, in Sacred Heart Cathedral Basilica in Newark at the age of 42. Before joining the seminary, I asked the question, “Is Mc Carrick still sleeping with seminarians?” I was assured the Papal Nuncio to the United States and Bishop James Mc Hugh, Auxiliary Bishop of Newark at the time, told Mc Carrick to stop sleeping with seminarians, but he was never disciplined.
Mc Carrick had to sell his house on Stockton Boulevard in Sea Girt, NJ, because much of his sexual activity with seminarians took place there and he was ordered to sell it by the Papal Nuncio. He bought another house in Curtis Point, Mantoloking, NJ.
We now know that at least two cases of adult abuse were settled by the Diocese of Metuchen and perhaps the Archdiocese of Newark. Now, a case of childhood sexual abuse by Mc Carrick in 1971 has been found credible by the Archdiocese of New York and Mc Carrick has been removed from public ministry.
It is outrageous that Mc Carrick was never disciplined for his abuse of adult males. It was widely known by “everyone” that Mc Carrick like to have young men around him for sexual gratification. I am working currently with a New Jersey priest who was abused by Mc Carrick and retaliated against for reporting it. It is unconscionable.
I was fired from ministry in the Archdiocese of Newark by Archbishop John Myers on May 23, 2003 because I was whistleblowing cases of sexual abuse. Myers followed Mc Carrick as Archbishop of Newark. Both men were either sexual abusers or engaged in covering up. Mc Carrick attended the meeting of Cardinals of the United States in 2002 in Rome when Pope John Paul II called them there to handle the growing scandal of clergy abuse in the USA.
Mc Carrick was quoted at that time as saying that there was no place in the priesthood for a priest who sexually abused a child. Seems that he was talking about himself! “
Our Church has been victimized by a network of sodomite pedophiles in the clergy. The same people who are victimizing our country above Alphonse , are of the same ideology as those who planted the Marxist Communists homosexuals into the seminaries in order to destroy the institutional Church ,just as Dr Bella Dodd testified to.
“Because the alleged abuse occurred during the years that Cardinal McCarrick was a priest of this archdiocese, the Holy See delegated Cardinal Dolan to investigate the allegation.”
“Cardinal” Dolan is going to investigate this? ROFL. That’s rich.
When someone asserts that his race is superior to all others – and is himself a mediocre physical specimen – ad hominem is entirely in-bounds.
You’re defending a self-declared white supremacist. You’re part of – and claim to be the cream of crop of – a Catholic Church that is majority non-white. Doesn’t get much more moronic than that. lol
Here is an article that talks about McCarrick and how a group of layman and seminarians spoke to the author in 2002 about going to the Vatican trying to thwart his being made a Cardinal.
They had documentation ! The Vatican did not care ( who do you think is working there?)
http://www.theamericanconservative.com/dreher/church-cardinal-mccarrick-is-a-molester/
Note in the comment section how people are relieved he ONLY molested young men . But oh no ! Now it was a child according to Robert Hoatson.
Randy told me a long time ago when she was writing RoS that these sodomites in the clergy always eventually go after children too.
So , you think the LGBTQ education of your children is safe?
All your children and grandchildren are being GROOMED by the state through the policies of the homosexual agenda foisted on both Church and State.!
The tired LOL signature block. I’m told old Skool is “lit”. Next time, try ending your comment with, neener neener neeeeeeener!
As you well know I said I would not repeat the FILTH you have written on the last posting comments section in your foolhardy retaliation towards Alphonse Jr.
U R Disgusting. Sit down and contemplate your OWN GENITALIA because honestly we do not care.
LIAR LIAR your real motivation here is on fire……….maybe not for a casual pit stop read but for those of us who know what you are about.
Anyone reading Blunder’s posts is dealing with a homosexualist.
And honestly Anastasia , the so called celibate clergy have kept their mouths shut about this for decades.
The flock has been stupified .
The clergy has kept mum about the sodomite wolves and abortion and contraception for decades .Their surrounded with active sodomite priests and prelates because if they blow a whistle they are punished so what did you expect?
Like you posted in your one quote……IT IS a Discipline
not a Doctrine and sadly they have no continence for discipline as evidenced by the pederast sodomites among them.
That “Thess.” author sounds like an anti-Semite.
And anyone reading your posts is dealing with a liar who likes to invent her own reality.
For the 11th (I think? maybe 12th?) time – what language did I use that’s “sodomite porn” terminology?
You won’t answer.
So since we’re just making ish up, everyone should know that Sweep, despite her protestations, is an active lesbian. Very active. And an infiltrator.
LOL, or, in Sweeptalk, Lots of Lesbians.
Sweep, after you muddle through the idiots who will invariably believe what Ive written,’please get a clue.

This garbage has no place on a Catholic site. I actually defended you a few weeks ago by thinking that you were a good person, despite your views. Apparently I was wrong. Im surprised that LV still lets you post after this filth.
Louie, your blog is going down the drain. Why don’t you do something??????
So many of the posts have become more personal in nature. Although I am certainly capable of doing the same thing at times, there seems to be an obsession with it lately.
2Vermont–Yes, in varying degrees, we are all guilty of going off topic or getting personal. However, there are some commentators who instigate a reaction which never seems to end. Louis latest blog had nothing to do with Jews or LGBT issues (did I miss something?) yet these topics took control. Get rid of certain commentators and the problem will be solved or at least lessened.
Rich, help a girl out here. I am successfully avoiding reading any Blunderbuss vulgarity. There is something very wrong there. I do like to read your comments. Your point is well taken but can you not quote him verbatim next time? If anyone scans his comments over the last couple of days, the evidence is there, you could just suggest that, maybe? He’s been begging Sweep to repeat his sodomite slang and I don’t think it’s necessary to indulge that desire. Please.
I apologize for copying and pasting his post. You are right…..I shouldnt have posted that nonsense a second time. Again, I apologize.
An interesting stumblingblock.org video last night in reference to Louie’s post above by Frank Walker. He calls out Liberal Traditionalists, and often links to this site for readers of his own blog. He also stated that the novus ordo is definitely another religion.
Some here (arrgh) post in response to others continually goading them for argument.
One uses descriptive filthy ad hominem attacks.
The irony is that the same person claims he s here to out Traditional Catholics as being nasty people. It is impossible to redirect or correct him as to just what he is doing .
I apologize if anyone is offended by posts that point to the sodomite clerical scandal
however , this one single factor that stands out as a barrier for a return to Tradition.
McCarrick was Ordained pre Vatican Two. That alone is indication of a huge reason the Council came about and why the church institution veered so far to the left so as to create a completely unrecognizable religion for Traditional Catholics.
Unless we verbalize our outrage , hold back any and all donations , we will never see the institutional church that identifies itself as “Catholic” reform itself so that the Barque of Peter is upright again. We want and need chaste straight male priests Ordained in the original Latin Rite again.
Sweep, I just noticed that Mr. Walker took down his count of # of days the Dubia have gone unanswered. For some reason, I feel like that’s a momentous occasion. I just looked at the number this morning too, now I wish I did a screen grab for posterity.
Melanie , I have no clue as to why unless for a realization that it is dead in the water.
Nevermind Sweep, I was mistaken or it’s back. No momentous occasion.
I had just thought maybe him acknowledging that he knew about the Dubia from the newspaper was the long awaited response and now we could drag him out of Rome. I can have an optimistic imagination, too.
Melanie you might find this of interest.Re:Dubia
BREAKING: Cardinal Burke responds to Francis: We hand-delivered dubia letter to Pope’s residence
https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/breaking-cardinal-burke-responds-to-francis-we-hand-delivered-dubia-letter
I thought this was an odd story of contradiction above , but in pattern with Francis’ line of thinking. The questions in the Dubia are clear .They require simple “yes” and “no” answers..
“If you cannot tell the truth ,say nothing” ,so perhaps this is why there has not been a response.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kfk4DVW7SK8&ab_channel=TheMessageOfTheDay
Aargh, there is actually conversation in that comment box about how terrible it is that someone’s keeping not just letters but letters from Cardinals from the Pope. I’ll be vacationing with my father next week, who believes 100% that Oswald was the lone assassin and thinks Occam’s razor precludes any and all conspiracies in the hx of world. If he says anything like this, my head will literally explode.
Surprise, surprise: Burke thinks Francis must have “misunderstood” the reporter.
Yeah, that’s it.
The answers to those 5 questions are in AL. The whole premise, to me, is bizarre. You’re a Cardinal and witness a “Pope” propagate heresy; it’s in writing. Weird step #1 You confront said “Pope” with questions tantamount to, “Did you propagate heresy?” Weird step #2 You do nothing because said “Pope” remains silent. Weird step #3 You bemoan the fact that the “Pope” remains silent, for almost 2 YEARS. Weird step #4 You stand there, impotent, as the “Pope” gears up to propogate more heresy following THE YOUTH SYNOD. I mean, does that seem weird to anyone else? Protocol is one thing but this is just silly? Pft. Cardinals, sure they are.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kfk4DVW7SK8&ab_channel=TheMessageOfTheDay
Melanie, In this short video clip Borgolio gives you the answer as to why he is not answering the Dubia.
In his own pretzel philosophy , “if you cannot tell the truth you say nothing or else you make of yourself a hypocrite.”
How about “sneak”? If you cannot answer with the truth you are being a sneak and eventually when pressed long enough ,you will eventually become a liar too.
Ha, I guess so. I once read some place that the devil was like a dog kept on a leash and he was only allowed so much length so stay out of the radius of that leash. Maybe the devil’s minions have to operate under some type of constraints as well. Some type of code of anti-ethics? Saying the Ten Commandments are just words not commands seems pretty much like lying, though. https://www.thebostonpilot.com/article.asp?ID=182647
Katherine may not approve, but this to be pure entertainment.
Weird? No. Fully expected from a fellow heretic.
Never abandon your arms; for your enemies never sleep, and life without temptations is as impossible as a sea of perpetual calm. A man is usually tempted most at the beginning of a good life, for the devil has no need to tempt those who have abandoned themselves to his control. But he is unceasing in his efforts against those who have resolved to give themselves to God. Therefore, let him never find you unprepared, but, like a soldier in an enemy’s country, be always ready for combat.
The Sinners Guide
Louis of Granada
I apologize 2Cents but the news of McCarrick I thought was very significant for reasons I state below.Ordained prior to V2 etc………
But what was there to say about the posted article aside from what Louie had to say?
I asked what a self described “Green Catholic” with a Catholic Justice Ministry of the same is ? No one answered because the entire thing concept is empty .
I have a local Twshp Municiple authority that gives info on how to help maintain and conserve the environment. Why do I need the Church to do it to?
Mr Wright’s comments were inane and for those who really have no knowledge of the Catholic Faith in the first place.
Look at us ,”We’re good stewards of the environment because we are Catholic?”………………forget the fact that the majority of us who identify as such are using B/C pills and sending those hormones down the toilet where they end up in the water treatment facility and cannot be filtered out before we gulp them down into our bodies.
So bad that the scientists identified Potomac saw male fish with female eggs and worried about the boys being feminized upstream in WV………..
How’s that for on topic with Mr Green Jeans, Wright?
Thoughts anyone?
I agree Sweep, the socialists’ concern for the environment is as phony as their concern for children and minorities. They want control. And socialism may pretend to be peaceful and may pretend to some faith but it is in actuality atheist communism. They are very peaceful until you try and save your baby from one of their socialist hospitals, then you will be met by policemen.
Melanie, there are many important questions that can’t be answered at the moment, as you show in your post. So keep doing what Catholics have always done – as far as possible as it is with you – and wait upon the Lord. I’m going to keep going to Mass and Confession at my SSPX chapel and keep thanking God for the opportunity.
I guess that’s what starts it for lots of people coming from the Novus Ordo. I admit that it did for me many years ago; but it can then lead one to start asking why that is, and that’s where the journey down the rabbit hole begins. For me, the ultimate answer to all those questions was summed up in one answer: Paul VI was not pope.
I don’t understand. Sweep told me to contemplate. I did what she asked, and reported back. Much length. Such girth. lol
Chaucerian joking aside, in the Trad Traditon of quoting oneself, I would direct you back to my first comment. No mention – not one – in Louie’s article about Jews or gays.
And yet here we are 154 (and counting) comments later. Count up the Jew- and gay-hating remarks. Go ahead. I’ll wait.
I’ll preempt the pearl-clutchers and fainting-couchers and say that I am
most certainly harsh my comments. But here’s the thing. If a bunch of people who can’t even be Catholic enough to attend Mass – and who still claim to be the best Catholics of all – are going to say they’re the only true Catholics and hurl abuse (“Bugman,” “SoyBoy,” “homosexualist,” “sodomite porn language,” etc.), I’m going to fire right back.
Fellow heretic loyally playing his part as fake/controlled opposition. Not a conspiracy, just the cold hard Conciliar Church facts. Who ordained (invalidly?) Burke? Who invalidly consecrated him a Bishop? Who made him a Cardinal? Hint: “Saints” and V2 Periti of the Novus Ordo religion. In what alternate reality could he possibly be considered a threat to abjure V2 and restore Traditional Catholicism as a future Pope? At the end of the day, the Dubia Bros, Antipope Frank and Papa Emeritus are all on the same team.
Off topic, but has anyone seen this video of a priest slapping a baby? Unreal.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=43&v=7s_LMSKaek8
Blunderbuss, you are filthy and disgusting. I’m not reading anything else you say from this point on. Go away.
Isles, he is obviously not well.
It is all over the Internet , even Fox News has it .
You have to wonder if anyone told his Bishop he was having problems.
Note: Well before Vatican Two this is proof there was a well established infiltration of the Church.
“With the hospitalization of priests in the proliferation of mental hospitals established since 1946 for sexual acting out clergy another insight became obvious: bishops and superiors knew what was going on. In fact, as the crisis of abuse took shape it became increasingly apparent that bishops not only knew what priests were doing to minors, but they were covering up what they knew and participating in the abuse by transferring the abusers from one parish or locale to another without informing or warning anyone of the previous assaults. ”
Warning…..disgusting first hand accounts by seminarians who were molested by Cardinal McCarrick published in 2008. Keeping in mind the same lobbied for Borgoglio before the conclave.
http://www.awrsipe.com/Comments/2008-04-21-McCarrick_Syndrome.html
Remind me when St Peter Damian (whom Trads LOVE to quote ad nauseum and who railed against the clergy because they were mostly gay) lived, again?
You can’t blame this on V2.
“….who railed against the clergy because they were mostly gay.”
False ,obviously you never read it.
Sweep, I don’t know if you’ve seen comments from Karl. His wife left him and he’s very upset that he has kept his vows and ya know obviously the Priests and now even the alleged pope make his pain and suffering a joke. Anyway, he is always saying that laymen need to take over the Church. On it’s face this sounds ludicrous but seriously, if there is anything to be done, it can not be done by current Cardinals, Bishops or Priests. Lacking clergy we still have laity. What if say, laymen did take over and elect a Pope, then he could make licit any actually Catholic valid Priests and Bishops. I seem to recall having read that the Pope doesn’t even have to be a Bishop but a male Baptized Catholic. I think that you’re so right and that the infiltration may be complete. Mary, a commenter here, always used to propose this too; I’m warming to it if it’s possible. Sounds kind of possible to me, just need some $. Is there a Catholic virtuous version of George Soros? We’d need to take back the Vatican to be successful, this catacomb idea is no good. Or maybe it’s just the end, I don’t know, reading Catholic Twitter would put this idea to rest in a millisecond. I just read a Trad blogger that I really like pretty much say sodomites are born that way, so probably Apocalypse.
That is one reason the Catholic Monarch thing was taking off Melanie.
Catholic monarchs had votes in the conclaves. I think we are far from seeing that materialize again though. Yet, “Nothing is impossible with God!”
A Catholic lawyer recently told me 90% of all males will not report a sodomite sexual assault.
Here is what Barnhardt is saying….
“(Originally penned and posted in November of ARSH 2017 when the whole Weinstein #MeToo thing broke. Now with the exposure of the open secret of American Cardinal McCarrick being a serial sodomite assaulter, others are calling for the countless thousands, tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands of males who have been victims and/or witnesses to these filthy sacrilegious sodomites and their crimes to SPEAK THE HELL UP. Considering that the majority of Novus Ordo priests by now are sodomites (many seminaries specifically purged heterosexual men), and the VAST majority of bishops are sodomites, the victim pool here is absolutely enormous.)”
https://www.barnhardt.biz/
https://www.charismanews.com/world/59417-johns-hopkins-scientists-offer-absolute-proof-gay-agenda-s-born-this-way-is-a-lie
If you get molested as a child then that is obviously awful. If you get molested as a seminarian than a) you are a coward and/or a homo yourself and b) have no business studying to become a priest. If someone had tried to molest me at a seminarian’s age Id still be in jail, and Im 48.
The McCarrick scandal is only one of countless scandals within the V2 church. Sadly, the V2 church will be business as usual today, tomorrow and all the days thereafter. Why?– because no one gives a darn. The average N.O. catholic who attends mass will continue to sit in the pew and open his wallet when the basket comes around. How many McCarricks are there from the top down? Hundreds? Thousands? Where is the rebellion? Who will lead? Not the SSPX–that’s for sure. Burke–he is a word man, not an action man. There may be a new and maybe a greater scandal exposed next week, next month with no end in sight. Why aren’t all these sickos in jail? I apologize for being so pessimistic and I know prayer is the answer, but I just get so frustrated with this entire disgusting mess. Is it a sin to wish that every N.O. church was empty and abandoned? God forgive me.
May I add: The Catholic Church before V2 was not perfect and it wouldn’t shock me to know that there were clergy who were homosexual, some of whom may have preyed on young boys. However, I don’t believe it was an intended infiltration in great numbers going back decades for the expressed purpose of destroying the Catholic Church. Remember Bella Dodd’s testimony.
“However, I don’t believe it was an intended infiltration in great numbers going back decades for the expressed purpose of destroying the Catholic Church. Remember Bella Dodd’s testimony.”
2 cents, It was an intended infiltration to destroy the Church alright.
Have courage ,God is in control. I had to tell the mother of two victims last night the Pittsburgh ArchDiocesan Grand Jury Report public revelation is being delayed because several Bishops want to defend themselves against the findings.
She has waited forty years to have public vindication having been re victimized after having to move out of state because so many pew people turned against her and her children for reporting the perp priest.
It was heartbreaking , literally. The evidence presented during her testimony at the GJ investigation included a fake medical bag in which note cards were kept and they showed her the perp was planning to molest her youngest son too aside from the eight and twelve yr old her had already abused.
Absolutely no thinks about how a mother is also violated when she finds out her young children were. It never ends in her mind and heart !
Apologies for all the typos above. I am in touch with several of the victim’s families and very upset today for them that they have yet to see justice done.
Cardinal Wuerl, I am praying your day will come .
My2cents, I can speak as a Catholic who just a few years ago attended NO. Almost every week, I left disgusted. I once actually got a migraine headache, I thought I was having a stroke, that was 10 yrs ago, awful. I went over everything that was entirely unCatholic about the homily and the entire ridiculous service w/my children. My husband is a convert and ever since he converted, every time we went to Church, I kept saying, they aren’t supposed to do that. I don’t know why they’re doing that. I’m sorry that guy tried to hold your hand. It’s been fake all along and if Jorge Bergoglio doesn’t wake someone up to this fact than he really has converted to the New Order, that’s all I can think. A Catholic can only wish that NO pews were empty and that Catholic pews are full and that we get a POPE. We need a Rosary Crusade that we get a Pope before we crusade for the consecration of Russia.
Dear sweep–It must be heartbreaking for you to be so closely involved in these horrendous cases. Without doubt, what the world believes to be the Holy Roman Catholic Church is controlled by perverted lying criminals. This is not the Catholic Church even if “Father Bob” sings great and makes everyone laugh and says cute things to the children. Melanie’s comments above express exactly my feelings. Nothing is right. Sweep–I pray that God gives you the strength and courage to help these poor families. The “church” doesn’t care about them no matter how many “I’m sorry’s” are said from their lips. It is what is in their hearts that matter and their hearts are numb. Let us all pray for these poor families and pray for justice–true justice.
http://prayforapope.com
My family has taken the 14th of each month for the last year, though we say many more Rosaries for this intention. Take a day people; Catholics need to have a Pope.
Yes, there have always been sinners in the Church. However, like you, I strongly suspect that this wasn’t as huge an issue before the Vatican II/Modernist era. Probably because priests then were actually Catholic and feared Hell.
That was in response to my2cents.
No God Next Door and Blood Drenched Altars, really good on hx of Church in Mexico. I read one more really good one but can’t remember title right now. I’ll check when home.
Mexican Martyrdom, also very good.
They were there and being promoted .Remember Bella Dodd had already re converted and testified to the fact she planted over one thousand Marxist Communist homosexuals in US seminaries in 1939 answering to four Cardinal communist party bosses in the Vatican in the 1930’s. McCarrick was Ordained in the fifties.
The seminarians were paid off with secrecy clauses attached .if you read one who spoke out against McCarrick , he was paid and helped with a new career by McCarrick himself so it would not be made public.
I did Melanie and he is not alone in his grief added to by this Pope’s policies.
“…our debased, Christ the Kingless modern society and the Almighty Council that dethroned Him…”
One of the best explanations, concise and yet most helpful, of how we got to our debased, Christ the Kingless modern society and the Council that dethroned Him (and re-crucify Him daily), is the following article:
Liberals, Modernists and Progressivists
Atila S. Guimarães
I have been asked to point out the differences among Liberal Catholics, Modernists, and Progressivists, since these terms have been used in the United States in a way that is inter-changeable and can lead to confusion.
Liberalism, Modernism and Progressivism, in a certain sense, are like grandparent, father and son of the same family. Let me explain.
Death by guillotine during the French revolution
The liberal accepts the principles of the French Revolution which installed the Modern State
Liberal in the ideological spectrum has little to do with liberal as a synonymn of generous, magnanimous, munificent, which are original meanings – good to know in order to set them aside when dealing with modern Liberalism.
Ideologically speaking, a liberal is, in a general sense, any person who accepted the principles of the Enlightenment and the French Revolution – Liberty, Equality, and Fraternity. Liberal is a term that comes from the acceptation of that revolutionary liberty. By extension, the liberal accepted other consequences of the French Revolution, such as the separation of Church and State, secular education for children and youth, civil marriages, and mainly, the idea that equal status should be given to all religions before the civil law.
In that historical phase, the term liberal Catholic applied to those who accepted the French Revolution and swore fidelity to the Modern State born from it. Thus, the French ecclesiastics who swore fidelity to the Civil Constitution of the Clergy were Liberal Catholics.
The term evolved, and took on a broader meaning. Liberal Catholics became those who – without taking any formal oath – accepted the principles specified above, and assimilated them as a part of their mentality. In this light, liberal Catholics would accept the principle of the sovereignty of the people as mandatory for any political regime; hence, they would accept that the democracy which issued from the French Revolution would be a legitimate system of government, or even the only legitimate one.
This position implied a rejection of Catholic monarchy, whose last version had been beheaded by the French Revolution. This anti-monarchist position of liberal Catholics was reflected within the Church. Many liberal ecclesiastics wanted to apply democracy to the Church’s hierarchical structure as well. This explains why in 1869, when Vatican Council I was convened, the liberal Bishops, such as Strossmayer and Dupanloup, opposed the Petrine Primacy and Papal Infallibility as they were solemnly defined by Pius IX in union with that Council in the Constitution on the Church, Pastor Aeternus (July 18, 1870).
Cardinal Newman
In England Cardinal Newman held liberal positions
Pope Leo XIII became famous for his politics of ralliement [reuniting], which signified the approval of the Church for the revolutionary democracy installed in France (1). This was a clear liberal position of Leo XIII, and alas, not the only one. Indeed, protected by his support, Liberalism gave birth to Modernism.
Famous liberal Catholics include Lammenais, Lacordaire and Montalembert in France, Döllinger in Germany, Gioberti and Rosmini in Italy, Newman and John Acton in England, O’Connell in Ireland, and Sterckx in Belgium.
The counter-revolutionary Catholics who opposed Catholic Liberalism took positions against the French Revolution and its consequences. Therefore, they favored sustaining the more than 1,000-year-old Catholic French monarchy, the union of Church and State, Catholic education, Catholic marriage with the full force of law, etc. They were also favorable to the monarchy in the Church as well, and therefore they were enthusiasts of the Petrine Papacy and Papal Infallibility.
These anti-liberal Catholics became know as ultramontane Catholics, because they defended the Papacy which was in Rome, beyond the mountains, the Alps, in relation to France, where most of the ultramontane force gathered. Ultramontanism became synonymous with anti-Liberalism.
A portrait of Joseph de Maistre
Joseph de Maistre, leader of the ultramontane movement
Famous ultramontane Catholics include Joseph de Maistre, Louis Veuillot and Dom Guéranger in France, Donoso Cortés in Spain, Taparelli D’Azeglio in Italy, Manning and Faber in England, von Ketteler in Germany, Rauscher in Austria.
Modernist was that Catholic who blatantly wanted to make a ralliement not only with the Modern State, but with the entire modern world – modern philosophy, modern science, and even the modern myths. So many adhesions to the modern epoch naturally generated the name of Modernism to characterize that current.
While Liberalism was mainly turned toward the political sphere, Modernism extended to philosophy and assimilated part of German Idealism. Namely, the theory that there is an essential divine immanence in the human soul formulated by Schleiermacher was assumed by Johann Adam Möhler, the Catholic founder of the Theological School of Tübingen, Germany. From there it influenced both German and French Modernism. From philosophy, this error simultaneously gained ground in theology and extended to the social sphere. The various types of Modernists that resulted from this process are described in Pascendi by St. Pius X. Modernism is much broader and more structured than its predecessor, Catholic Liberalism (2).
A progressivist differs from a modernist in two important developments of the same errors: the extension of their consequences and the subtlety of their expression.
Regarding its expanded consequences, Progressivism came to light simultaneously as a four-fold movement: liturgical, biblical, patristic and social.
The liturgical movement started in the 1920s in various Benedictine Abbeys – Maria Laach in Germany, Maredsous in France and Amay sur Meuse in Belgium – fostering the participation of the people as if they were as essential as the priest in the Mass. Also a bad ecumenism assimilated into the liturgy Protestant ideas such as that the Mass is less a sacrifice and more a banquet, that the word of God is as important as the Eucharist, etc.
In parallel, the ambience of mystery proper to the Greek Schismatics was praised – first in liturgy, then in dogmatic theology. Hence the liturgical movement presented the Church as a Mystery – the Mystical Body of Christ – in opposition to the Militant Church, which supposes a visible and hierarchical society.
The biblical movement basically promoted a new interpretation of Holy Scriptures. According to it, the sacred texts should be understood not as they were written, but conditioned to their historic context, the literary genre used, the testimonies of witnesses upon which the sacred authors based themselves, the social and cultural influences present at the time, etc. To achieve such an interpretation, biblical scholars needed to employ extensive archeological research, the contribution of natural sciences, as well as the consensus of contemporary social and psychological theories, which propose to explain the behavior of society and the individual. With so many different criteria, the practical consequence is a free interpretation of the Scriptures: a goal that pleases Protestants and favors ecumenism.
The principal protagonist of the biblical movement was the French Dominican Fr. Marie Joseph Lagrange, who was the founder of the Biblical Institute of Jerusalem (1891) under Leo XIII. Lagrange escaped condemnation as a Modernist and remained quiet under the pontificate of St. Pius X. In the 1920s, his Historic Method took over Catholic exegesis.
hans Urs von Balthasar
Hans Urs von Balthasar, one of the adepts of the New Theology
The main goal of the patristic movement, also called re-sourcement [return to the sources] was to jump back over Scholasticism to the thinking of the Fathers of the Church. It was a way to eclipse Scholasticism and its logic. Adepts of this movement sought out those Fathers whose writings had marked Platonic tendencies, or even mistakes that further down the line, the Church had transcended or condemned. In the 19th century this movement had been initiated by Möhler and Scheeben in Germany and Newman in England. From the 1930s on it would take on a new strength and extension with the commentaries on the Fathers by von Balthasar, De Lubac, and Danielou, to name a few of the many components of the Nouvelle Theologie.
The social movement represented the marriage of the Church with the revolutionary world as such. A similar attempt had been halted with the condemnation of the Sillon movement by St. Pius X. The principal protagonists of the progressivist social movement included Belgian Fr. Joseph Cardijn who founded the Jeunesse Ouvriere Catholique – JOC [Catholic Youth Workers,] in 1924; French Dominican Fr. Louis Joseph Lebret who founded the Jeunesse Etudiante Catholique – JEC [Catholic Student Youth] in 1929, and French Dominican Fr. Jacques Loew who founded the Worker Priests in 1941. These associations and all that revolutionary social work that proceeded from them had a practical consequence of uniting Catholic social work to Communism under the pretext of helping the poor. Following the same path of adaptation to the revolutionary world, Progressivism joined with Communism, just as Liberalism had united with the French Revolution around 150 years before.
Pius IX
Progressivists avoid direct confrontation with the Syllabus of Pius IX
From these four movements, Progressivism extended to modern philosophy, accepting Phenomenology and Existentialism, extravagant consequences of German Idealism, and to theology, “re-reading” all the dogmas of the Church and presenting interpretations different than the traditional ones.
Regarding its subtlety, Progressivism differs from Modernism in this: until their victory at Vatican II, progressivists tried to avoid the condemnations of St. Pius X in Pascendi and Pius IX in the Syllabus. Even though they upheld the same errors, they were careful to present them in a less blatant version, as similar as possible to orthodox doctrine. Therefore, it can be more difficult and complicated to catch these errors.
These are the main differences and analogies regarding the three terms: liberal Catholic, modernist, and progressivist.
So, if you refer to the present day progressivists as liberals or modernists, most probably the person with whom you are speaking will understand what you mean. But, you open the door to more confusion, especially if you are talking to young people who lack historical education.
Actually, it is not a good habit to call the son by the first name of the father or the grandson by the first name of his grandfather. The normal practice is to call each one by his individual name; today we should use the forename progressivists.
Yes, just prior. I don’t doubt that. They didn’t just appear one day during the Vatican II proceedings.
I also strongly recommend reading Revolution and Counter-Revolution by Plinio Correa Oliveira.
