Better late than never… Such was the message that I received from a close personal friend of Fr. Nicholas Gruner, along with the photo above showing the gravestone that had just been put in place to mark the resting place of “the Fatima priest’s” earthly remains.
Indeed, I think we can all agree that this headstone stands as a fitting monument to Father’s life’s work of promoting the full message of Fatima to save souls and achieve world peace.
And yet, we must also admit that we risk seeing this mission, once carried out so well by Fr. Gruner, becoming more a thing of the past to be remembered rather than being treated as it should be – namely, as an imperative for those of us alive today.
Much has taken place in the three years since Fr. Gruner died; e.g., the conclusion to the rigged Synods on the family, publication of the heresy laden text Amoris Laetitia, issuance of the now infamous dubia, the 100th anniversary of Our Lady’s appearance at Fatima…
These are the kinds of things that would have happened even if Father had not been mercifully called from this life. More noteworthy still, however, are those things that arguably would not have happened had Father remained here to continue serving Our Lady at the helm of the Fatima Center.
For instance:
- Those associated with the Fatima Center would never have hailed, in the name of the apostolate, the “courageous declarations” and “intellectual honesty” of a neo-conservative icon (Cardinal Burke) who shamelessly exploited the centenary of Our Lady’s appearance to legitimize the “new evangelization,” the anti-Fatima pontificate of John Paul II, and the Second Vatican Council.
- There is no chance whatsoever that persons long associated with the Fatima Center would have found themselves shunned, openly ridiculed, and blacklisted by the apostolate for no other reason than their willingness to defend the integrity of the Fatima message from those who, like Cardinal Burke, are Hell bent on synthesizing it with neo-conservatism.
- Surely, no one working for the Fatima Center would have dared to deliberately obfuscate Fr. Gruner’s well-studied position concerning the “so-called pontificate of Francis;” a man he plainly considered an anti-pope and whose name he, therefore, would not mention while praying the Canon at Holy Mass.
- Certainly such persons in the Fatima Center’s employ never would have gotten away with insisting – again, in the name of the apostolate, that the validity of Jorge Bergoglio’s claim to the Petrine Office is a “controversial issue” that is but a distraction from “the full Fatima message.”
- Much less would these persons have been given free reign to use the Fatima Center’s letterhead to calumniate those who, like Fr. Gruner himself, see the unprecedented situation in Rome as directly related to Our Lady’s warnings.
Yes, much has changed since Fr. Gruner passed, but the mission to which he dedicated so much of his life is growing increasingly more crucial with every passing day. As such, the important question one must ask is simply this:
In Fr. Gruner’s absence, where, and by whom, is the mission of safeguarding and spreading the full message of Fatima still being carried out in all integrity?
Gruner was a bennyvacantist? Of all the dumb things to be, bennyvacantism has to be the worst.
Religious liberty as taught by V2? Oh yeah, no problem.
Ecumenism, inter-religious dialogue? Why not.
Giving communion to heretics and schismatics in the 1983 code of canon law? Sure.
But Pope Francis? Obviously he’s beyond the pale.
LOL
Im not sure what your goal is, but you do often make a lot of sense. Regardless, its nice…and proper…that Fr Gruner has a headstone. For some reason though, I had thought that he had been ordained prior to the vatican 2 takeover of the Catholic Church.
Mr. Verrecchio: “Yes, much has changed since Fr. Gruner passed, but the mission to which he dedicated so much of his life is growing increasingly more crucial with every passing day. As such, the important question one must ask is simply this: In Fr. Gruner’s absence, where, and by whom, is the mission of safeguarding and spreading the full message of Fatima still being carried out in all integrity?”
Comment: But wait, I thought “dear Fr. Gruner” was guilty of distorting the Fatima message by teaching that Russia was “an instrument of Peace,” as you wrote here: https://akacatholic.com/beware-russia-as-blessed-instrument-of-peace/
–
You even blamed “dear Fr. Gruner’ for leading those who run the Fatima Center astray by teaching this, when you wrote: “Even so – and it pains me to tell you this – it appears that certain of Fr. Nicholas Gruner’s comments may have contributed to its burgeoning popularity among so-called “Fatimists” today; including those who are presently running the apostolate that he labored so many years to build.”
–
So which is it, was Fr. Gruner a DEFENDER or a DISTORTER of the Message of Fatima? And who is truly carrying on his mission today, those who continue to hold the position he held, or those who claim his position was false?
–
You see, when Fr. Gruner disagrees with you, he is a distorter of the Message of Fatima, yet when his memory can be exploited to denigrate the Fatima Center he founded and gain additional followers for yourself, he is “dear Father Gruner.” What an utterly disgusting spectacle to witness.
GLAD to see a gravestone on Fr. Gruner’s grave. It’s easier for me to go to John Vennari’s grave. I have relatives at Mt. Calvary cemetery in Cheektowaga. I still think they should be in the same cemetery inside a chapel. I’d have to go over the border to Ft. Erie for Fr. Gruner. Since the 9/11 shenanigans I haven’t crossed the border. Just as with my mother’s death, I believe the death of Fr. Gruner has never been objectively examined.
I believe that the true message of Fatima has been stifled by the untimely deaths of both Father Gruner and John Vennari. May both of these courageous men rest in peace.
Rich, Ganganelli has easily discovered the means of defeating the R&R camp at its own game. As you and I know, they are logically inconsistent as Gang has once again pointed out. Ganganelli would make a good sede if he would ever admit that Vatican 2 is not Catholic and therefore could not have been promulgated by the Catholic Church.
I’m sorry, but this was exactly my reaction in reading the article. We always seem to be looking for an enemy here…even praising former enemies in order to criticize current ones. Is there ever anything that is done right by others? Is this the sole repository of truth in the battle for the Church?
No one with any sense ever imagined, much less did I ever suggest, that Fr. Gruner was infallible or even impeccable in his every utterance.
Being that I am not a mindless groupie but rather am interested first and foremost in discovering what is true and then presenting it plainly, I have no problem pointing out where Fr. Gruner actually stood on any given issue, and admitting where he may have erred. If that makes you squirm, that’s your problem.
Thank you, Louie, for sharing this with us! I agree — much has changed at the Fatima Center since the death of Fr. Gruner. The shunning of people like you and Cornelia Ferreira and Dr. Peter Chojnowski is totally unwarranted and even a scandal to the Fatima Center. Additionally, why oh why would they part company with Coralie Graham, who was Fr. Gruner’s right-hand assistant for so many years?! Also, the same as regards Ellen Montgomery, who so graciously helped us get registered for conferences and insured that I was picked up at the airport, when participating in Center events. And, IMHO, the worst is the shunning of Fr. Paul Kramer, who was such a compatriot of Fr. Gruner’s! Additionally, there even seems to be “shame” on the Center’s part for much of what Fr. Gruner said, especially in his final years before leaving us. There a number of his talks, in which he was very outspoken and critical of the Church and the hierarchy, that have simply vanished from the internet — and that cannot be found when searching the Fatima Center’s website. Why have these been removed? Are they so ashamed? Have they collapsed to the mushy middle? Our Lady warned in Akita that there would be compromise everywhere. Again, IMHO, compromise has even infected the Fatima Center. It has seemingly lost the sharpness of focus that it once had. Sad~~~. I agree with your final question. Who will pick up the mantle & tell it like it is, as regards Fatima and the consequences of the failure to obey Our Lady’s twin requests to reveal the 3rd Secret in its entirety & consecrate Russia, by name, to Her Immaculate Heart, Pope and bishops combined?
It’s really quite simple: Francis is messing with the all important sixth and ninth commandments…you know, the ones that involve sex and lust. All the previous V2 popes? Pfft…they just messed with the First Commandment.
They’re now just another CatholiCuck outfit. As a species of cuckservative, CatholiCucks burn with unquenchable lust for mainstream respectability. Consequently, they’ll continue to become increasingly limp-wristed and kosher. Pitiful. Just pitiful.
Priests religious and laity who dare to speak out publicly against the Bishop’s official statues quo for over fifty years have been consistently slandered and persecuted.
Irregardless of Father Gruner’s faults , it took a courageous priest to step out and challenge what he believes is a Catholic Truth that has been suppressed.
For priests it is particularly difficult because they lose the security of the life they spent so much time and education preparing for. The longer they have been in the system the more difficult it is to leave, find a job and start a life all over again whether you stand up against clerical abuse or another Catholic Truth you believe in. Look at all the men who left the Legion of Christ disillusioned by the life of their pervert founder that their Superiors were still idolizing long after his putrid life was revealed publicly.
I knew one older priest who became an independent because he refused to place the Host in unconsecrated hands. His Bishop expelled him. One who lived in fear
his name would be reported to the bishop when he visited Catholics in hospitals and dispensed the Sacrament of Extreme Unction because he was not an “official” Diocesan chaplain. ( too Traditional) .
Then there are these people and so many more who just left quietly like Fr Haley.
Personally I believe many of them will stand in the company of saints and martyrs of the Church.
http://bishopaccountability.org/Whistleblowers/
Traditionalism is infected with people trying to out-Trad each other and be ever more radical. The splintering of the SSPX after departing from the Church is a roadmap.Once you decide that you’ve stumbled upon a secret nobody else knows, it’s a short trip to what I believe is generally called the Home Alone position.
Yes, he would make a good sede (A Catholic). I believe that his intentions are not Catholic though. He says the right things for the wrong reasons.
Thats the problem. We shouldnt have to “out trad” anyone. We should simply have our Faith and do our best to live by it.
Once again (and Ive likely said this over 100 times), thank you vatican 2 for screwing up Catholicism.
You have to real it in my friend. You know what is right but you need to stop with the “cuck” this and “cuck” that. When people see that they are likely to tune out before they received your message.
Yes….I meant REEL and not REAL. We need an edit option Louie.
Well said, Sweep!! Thank you for this website!
Blessings to you!
Dr. Maria
Based on the previous Blunder posts , his idea of “out Trad”ding anyone or radicalism falls into the category of stating the facts that masturbation and ssa all falls into a catholic morally accepted inclination category.
All based on his favorite drinking hole observations.
Everything else, whether biologically and medically verified or not, falls into a radical conspiracy theory category . He does not read , he just contradicts for the sake of contradiction itself.
Unlike you, sweepoutthefilth, I haven’t had – Forrest Gump-like – a front seat (or been involved with) seemingly every single seminal event in American Catholic history.
I simply point out reality. Masturbation – however morally wrong- has never turned a straight man gay. Gay people are not the product of molestation. Notes on cocktail napkins 20 years after the alleged speech do not constitute prophecy.
As the Church Fathers said (particularly Aquinas), Reason shows you the way to Faith. It’s positively un-Catholic to tie the Faith to utterly unreasonable conspiracy theories.
To bring this back to the original post, Fr. Gruner seemed to be a saintly man On a personal level. Toward the end of his life, he threw in his lot with lunatics and prophesied – inaccurately – the end of the world.
Forrest Gump-like! Hahha that’s a good one, Blunder.
Yes, sweep, this is a great website. I would like to know the name of the nuns taken before V2. We did not know their family names, only the names taken as consecrated sisters. God bless the whistleblowers!
Apologies 2 Cents to both you and Louie because I am giving a crude character too much attention, but I would like Blunder Boy to copy and paste exactly where I stated masturbation leads to homosexuality. Aside from the grooming process recounted in many court cases prior to actual sodomy foisted on children by pederasts, I never said the common bar slugs that Blunder talks about in the bars he frequents , turn into sodomites because they self indulge playing with themselves. However HE DID say it is a common practice of most of the men he knows of.
Nor did I say that Malachi Martin was a prophet. He was the Biblical Scholar for the Vatican and he was also a linguist and prolific well selling author.
As far as Randy being , “an alleged journalist” apparently you have no clue on that either.
You can read her Bio here.
http://www.renewamerica.com/columns/engel
I have been following Randy Engle for years. Her investigative reporting is beyond reproach. She backs up everything she says with facts and footnotes. This is one of the reasons why I am looking forward to “The Catholic Inquisitor”. I am sure she has so much more to offer. Knowledge is Power. You cannot fight what you do not know. That is where the battle begins.
The reason the Fatima message has never been legitimately proclaimed by the Church is the same reason LaSallete was suppressed and likely many other apparitions of the 20th century – Betania in Venezuela and Uganda as well as Akita. The words of Our Lady conflicted with the masonic objectives of the clergy in the Vatican. They couldn’t let her have the upper hand, because she will lead to Christ and suppress the rebellion in the Church.
I won’t question Randy Engle’s sincerity, but I must question her sanity when she asserts that the letting girls play sports is part of a conspiracy for world domination hatched by the New World Order.
Her words, not mine.
Best of luck defending that.
I suggest you visit Ireland, where you will discover that, unlike in your American Puritan vision of a righteous society, bars are entirely compatible with Catholicism. A wise man once said that it’s not that liquor changes a man; it merely reveals the kind of man he really is. Aquinas encourages consumption.
I never said that masturbation is a common practice with all the men I know. I wouldnt know one way or another, because here on Planet Earth, Actual Real Live Heterosexual Men do not discuss masturbation with each other.
Dan Brown sold many times the number of books that Malachi Martin did. Should we be reading and citing his (very entertaining) crap?
Blunder-I’m going to break by own rule and respond to this. I know of so many family members and friends who encouraged their daughters to play sports (I talking here about aggressive playing like soccer starting as early as 4 years old) who admit their daughters are now more masculine than feminine in their behavior, manner and dress. Are there exceptions to this? Of course, there are. Why is this so encouraged by the community and even, if some instances, the local parish. A very dear friend who has many granddaughters, says he has never seen them in a dress or acting like a “young lady”, but they are always ready to get on the softball field or the soccer field. That is all I’m going to say except that I agree with Randy on this. I sincerely hope I don’t break this rule again. Therefore, I will not entertain your responses in the future.
Yes I do agree he would probably make a good sed. He, like most seds, have no big issues with supporting the heresy of NFP. Even though that I do know that some seds, although not the majority of seds, do clearly know that NFP is a heresy I just couldn’t resist the poke.
2 Cents , It’s simple. You cannot speak reason on any topic to a New Order of the Mass troll. Having seen and been told about the Guinness beer trucks that pull up to the church halls for the KoC meetings ,unloading cases of beer each time. I can understand his defense of his lifestyle and religious style preferences. By his own admission he does not like to study or even read the root causes of the loss of Faith rather, he recalls Aquinas saying it was good to consume alcohol! The Scriptures also say this but with the caveat of moderation stating small amounts are good for the stomach.
Traditionalists by in large , go to Mass to give Honor and Glory to God . The demeanor and quality of the Prayers are important to them. N.O. Modernists go to fulfill their “obligation” in the quickest and easiest way possible, to socialize and in the hope of being entertained. Deeper reading and understanding is just not worth it to them .Defending their right of comfort extends to every aspect of their lives. Nuf said.
Why not Clement XIV instead of Ganganelli?
Nuf said—but you said it perfectly!
Fr Martin once said to me,”Do not be a Pessimist or even an Optimist regarding the Church . Always be a Realist.” I have taken those words to heart applying them the everything in my life and it has served me well. I choose my friends based on this well balanced motto also. I can attest to the fact that Randy Engel’s research is beyond the norm of most writers and parallels in equal measure to her deep Faith.
“It is not surprising that the liberals did not like Malachi Martin’s message. However, a problem for the liberals was that Fr. Martin’s thesis was difficult to refute. The facts upheld Fr. Martin’s thesis. All of the statistical indicators of the Church’s vitality, such as seminary enrollment and church attendance, were in steep decline. And these statistical indicators which were in a death spiral did not take into account qualitative factors, such as the loss of belief and the spread of heresy among the churchmen. Liberals and moderate conservatives did attempt to refute Malachi Martin, but because his conclusions were based on the rock of reality, these attempts were not very successful in denting Fr. Martin’s popularity.”

Girls playing sports with other girls seems fine to me. Did she maybe say girls playing sports with boys? If she said that then I agree with her.
Anecdotal subjective remarks from your social circle are not proof of unsubstantiated and irrational assertions by Randy Engel. I can point to any number of very feminine females I know who enjoy and excel at sports. Google Lindsey Vonn or Katie Ledecky for a more public and recognizable examples.
The “sugar and spice and everything nice” notion of femininity is an upperclass construct that very few people experience. Actual peasant women’s lives consisted of endless manual labor. Ever met one? They’re pretty tough – tougher than many guys.
This is also true for modern “peasants”, even in first world countries where millions of immigrant women from the 3rd world hold down multiple jobs and take care of kids.
The statistical indicators you mention about the health of the Church are quite the opposite outside of Europe and North America. Or do you not consider the 70% of the global Catholic Church that isn’t white European or North American to not be Catholic? Pretty sure God doesn’t think that way so neither should you.
Malachi Martin. Amazing writer. Not so amazing at predicting the future.
Blunderbuss. Crappy Concern Troll. Even worse statistician and probably an innumerate racist.
Gasping ! God help Mrs Blunder !
Naaa, Nothing and no one would be attracted to this kind of mindset.
I’m racist because I’m proud to be a member of the Roman Catholic Church, which is majority non-white. I don’t follow how that can be, but you seem quite sure of it.
Personal insults aren’t a response. Try again. Tell me where I’m wrong.
https://www.catholiceducation.org/en/culture/catholic-contributions/black-catholics-number-200-million-worldwide.html
You are a proud innumerate, ignorant racist who thinks there are no “white” Catholics is Mexico and South America. You don’t leave your gated SJW community much.
I said non-white, which includes Hispanic, Black, Asian, etc. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catholic_Church_by_country
au contraire Rich, I laugh every time I read it. It is such a beautifully alliterative expression, one of the few words that sounds like the object of the description.
“Gay people are not the product of molestation”
Learn to read ! Victims once molested as adolescents have stated outright in court cases that they became confused about their gender identity ,after they were introduced into sex by adult pederasts. “Why else would the priest be attracted to me if i wasn’t a homosexual?,”is repeated over and over in various ways during the testimonies. Read the files on psychological trauma that occurs during childhood sexual abuse. In my profession we had to and we had to recognize it.
As for insults , you just insulted every woman who either has to work for a living or support her children alone because some dead beat dad exited the family.
You label all as “peasants” inferring they have no dignity as women !
You also recommend visiting bars in Ireland to learn Catholicism. Obvious from all your commentary is where you learned your faith. Over a pint of beer watching other bar flies sexually hit on one another.
What a waste of time to read or replying to your kind.
FYI, Catholicism is struggling in Ireland. One Irishman told me he was shocked to learn when he went home, a longtime village priest had to be buried by car head lights and cement poured into the grave for fear parishioners whose children he sodomized would desecrate the grave.
Boys, boys, you are squabbling amongst yourselves, it’s not attractive. Put a lid on it. Nevertheless kudos to Louie for letting it go on, I can’t take combox police, I really am tired of it. Let people say what they want if they aren’t pornographic. We’re grownups and can’t take opinions we don’t agree with.
The Fatima Center is likely morphing, declining, and shriveling up, because this appears to be part of the mysterious plan of God. Years ago I realized there was no way America would suffer Barack Hussein Obama at the precise point in time Jorge Bergolio the Communist would both ascend unless it were all somehow part of a culmination of sorts. God’s permitting will. Our church is in collapse, there is no way around that, the nations, the world, Europe is being completely overtaken by Islam and secular ideology, LGBT mania has arrived, 9/11, moral decay and violence, a media gone insane, the men ten years ago we thought were our faithful allies forever and ever have lost their tongues or memory of the faith, and all the while, NO apparitions in our world, no consoling words or messages any longer from Our Lady. Those seem to be over.
There is nothing more to say. We’ve been told. We have been given enough information to make our choices Whom we will serve. The support beams are being kicked out from under us. Will we stand, or fall.
Sorry, “can take opinions we don’t agree with”.
Don’t be ridiculous. 99% of us are peasants – myself included. Good for you if you’re in the upper crust. There’s no shame in being a peasant. You seem to think that there is. I don’t believe in a gospel of wealth, but it appears you do. Peasant women have the same dignity as all other women. They’re also a lot tougher.
Plenty of gays were never molested. Go meet a real live one and talk to him or her.
You’re preaching an American Puritannical faith, not Catholicism. You can have a Guinness (or three) and be a good Catholic. You can be a wife and mom who works and still be a good Catholic.
lol
Father Martin, double agent?
https://mauricepinayblog.wordpress.com/category/how-the-jews-changed-catholic-thinking/
It’s called “seeding” .Read this and then go to James Martin’s Tweets and see where he also says ,”we are seeds” after being petitioned out of Bishop Checcio’s (one of McHugh’s ole Boyz) Diocese by laity.
http://theweek.com/articles/774517/pope-francis-cunning-long-game
Here’s the post………….

“They tried to bury us. They forgot we were seeds.” Thanks to everyone who packed the room for a lecture on Jesus last night, which was moved after angry protests from hateful online groups. Thanks also Bishop Checchio for meeting with me before the talk”. https://www.facebook.com/pg/FrJamesMartin/photos/?tab=album&album_id=10155108150996496 …
Get prepared for a new crop of priests educated by Checcio. after he cursed and bullied his way into acquiring the monastery that John Vennari and friends owned for the Camden Diocese he became the rector of a Seminary in Rome and then bishop of Metuchen
fr Monk…….oops wrong Martin. FYI MM worked for Bea in the vatican, a mason linked to B’nai Brith . He exited both his Jesuit Order and exposed much of what is wrong in the Church. The fact that his books were later published by Jewish owned Publishing Houses in NY does not prove culpability. when Fed agents came to visit him the hospital the first time to ask if he knew why Bea traveled on false documents , he was surprised to hear it.
Kaiser was institutionalized for mental health problems . i would not believe a thing he says especially since he waited for Martin’s death before he hurled his stories out.
MM was no saint but he was not working to destroy the Church.
