My apologies for the overly alarming title, but I want to be as sure as I can that readers see this.
Late yesterday evening, my email inbox began receiving a FLOOD of Contact Form messages from akaCatholic readers, many of them dating back several months. I have a spam filter in place that does a reasonably decent job of filtering out nonsense, and then forwards the rest to me via email.
In hindsight, I do recall that these messages had slowed to a halt, but I never really gave it any thought. Over that same period of time, I started the podcast, which evidently inspired even more messages than usual.
For whatever reason, the Contact Form filter “broke loose” last night and for a period of hours, message after message began flooding my email.
These forwarded messages are not dated. I can only guess when they were written based on the subject matter. It will take some time for me to go through them. I can already see that some of them merit a personal response and I will get them out as soon as I can. Please know, however, though I will read them all, it simply is not possible to reply to every one. That, btw, has always been true, i.e., it is not the case only because of this particular glitch.
Most importantly, I want you to know that I have not been ignoring you. Now that I am sharing the email address Louie@akaCatholic.com on the podcast (which comes more directly to my inbox than the form), it may make sense to delete the Contact Form altogether. Not sure what is best. I don’t have a webmaster person. I’m winging it over here. 🙂
So… thank you all for reaching out. I really appreciate your readership, your support and your comments.
