Thank you Cornelia Ferreira for reminding us again of the need to offer up our daily sufferings as sacrifices of reparation.
I recall the dear Sisters in parochial school teaching us about this when I was little. Because of that, I was rescued from despair over the course of a lifetime, especially during the sicknesses and deaths of loved ones in our family and after the loss of close friends. Offering up one’s sorrows and pain makes you realize life has more meaning because it is all worth something special in God’s eyes.
One comment. It appears that interest in Fatima is diminishing.
Some have said that Fatima is a mere private revelation which is not required to be believed. I think this is foolish. Perhaps a future newsletter or blog entry could address this.
The essential message of Fatima is very simple: stop sinning and justify and sanctify yourself through the means provided by Christ’s Church- with a special emphasis on the very powerful of the intercession of His Blessed Mother. Otherwise, God will withdraw His Mercy and render His Justice.
It’s just Catholicism.
I would wager that most of us who post here have much work to do in the “stop sinning” department. Yours truly included.
