It’s interesting that Pope Francis’ washing of the feet of a Muslim is in sharp contrast to the actions of his namesake, Saint Francis of Assisi, who traveled to Egypt to convert the Sultan there. It’s believed that the Sultan listened patiently to St. Francis as he preached the Catholic faith him, and it’s thought that the Sultan did later convert on his deathbed. But it would seem that direct method of St. Francis is no longer acceptable for the proponents (or at least some of them) of the New Evangelization. They seem to view St. Francis as just a peace and luv hippie.
Disappointed, and surprised, since I did not think this would be repeated.

As if to corroborate your testimony of tradition, Pope Pius XII writes:
“At the Last Supper He celebrates a new Pasch with solemn rite and ceremonial, and provides for its continuance through the divine institution of the Eucharist. On the morrow, lifted up between heaven and earth, He offers the saving sacrifice of His life, and pours forth, as it were, from His pierced Heart the sacraments destined to impart the treasures of redemption to the souls of men. All this He does with but a single aim: the glory of His Father and man’s ever greater sanctification.”

I read a comment on Mundabor’s blog that referenced Jewish priesthood ritual rites with the washing of feet and how Jews would have seen this act for more than just an act of humility. Hopefully I will get my hands on more details but this emo, false humility, and abuse has got to end. It is not kindness to keep anyone in the dark about Christ, the truth and send them off to hell with a smile and clean feet. The Muslim woman who had her feet washed is being hated not loved. Exactly; why stop at twelve? and for that matter why stop at humans? Next year I expect to see a kangaroo and an orangutan. If Frankie is serious about horizonatlism and anti-priestism and humanism (which let’s face it always ends in animalism), about the elevation of all to one level and the descent of all to the same level, I want to see an oragutan get it’s feet wet at the hands of the vicar of self-centred anti-christism.

no one with a wit of love for Christ could ‘do this’ in mockery of Him which is what Jorge is doing – he’s better than all the rest because he’s novel. Frankie is an old man, a mean old man, an anti-church, anti-bride and therefore anti-christ old man. I do hope his last days on earth are comfortable since the comfort of the aged is his biggest concern, and that he makes it into purgatory at least. But this ponificate needs to draw to a swift close. He is a vandal and loving it. Given the way he impresses his personality against the True mysteries of Faith, and the commands of Our Lord, I can no longer not get personal about this fella. He’s an antipope if ever there was one.
Why stop at twelve? because what Frankie is doing is ritually destroying Apostleship; ritually destroying the priesthood and ritually destroying the meaning of Christ’s actions. So, pretty much in keeping with his whole anti-church bent since he called himself Frank.

Don’t you find it interesting that Francis can kneel down and wash the feet of these people but he can’t kneel down during the consecration of the bread and wine during Mass. He so tips his hand for anyone who’s paying attention.

What I find spiritually dangerous is this ‘pontiff’ who evinces NO supernatural faith. Which is probably why he so verbally and practically (Fransican Friars) despises those who do. He worships the perverted triumphalism of feminism, islam, judaism, the world, queerism – all the while mocking the True and only good triumphalism – Christ and His Bride. we’ve just gone through Good Friday, people, and yet we still have Catholics who think it is ‘spirutally dangerous’ to know who the enemy is. Those who don’t know who are the enemies of Christ obviously don’t know Christ – this is what is spiritually dangerous.

You make a fair point salvemur. I guess I just feel very uncomfortable with Pope Francis and everything he is saying and doing, especially in light of Louie’s latest post on the ‘triumphalist Christians’ and the Resurrection. Yet he is still Pope. This is the problem.
It’s a problem, but less of a problem if one realises he is an anti-truth Bishop indifferent to the gift of Christ and His Church, however. Forewarned is forearmed.
