In this episode of Vatican II Revisited, Kevin and I complete our examination of Gaudium et Spes and its unbridled, almost giddy, treatment of the soaring dignity of man.
Along the way, viewers will discover how the Council undermined the Church’s perennial teaching on marriage, the unique role of the husband as head of household, and even contributed to the proliferation of contraception and abortion.
We’ll also consider how Gaudium et Spes planted the seeds that have since blossomed into the globalist agenda, part and parcel of the Council’s dethronement of Christ the King.
This represents the second to last installment in the Vatican II Revisited series. It will be followed by a live wrap-up episode wherein we will have the honor of welcoming Fr. In total, we have examined in some detail all four of the Constitutions produced by the Council (on Divine Revelation, the Sacred Liturgy, the Church, and the Church in the Modern World), along with the Decrees on Ecumenism and the Church’s Relationship with Non-Christian Religions, as well as the Declaration on Religious Freedom.
At this point, I think it’s safe to say that we’ve accomplished our goal, namely, demonstrating that Vatican Council II represents a stark departure from the traditional, and immutable, doctrine of the Church, and as such, neither it, nor the church that exists to promulgate its errors, are Catholic.
