As I write, I’ve yet to find a full transcript of the speech delivered by Leo XIV from the loggia, but watching a video and listening closely as a translator attempts to provide an English translation voice over (and not getting the following right) the new CEO of the Conciliar Church clearly states:
“Tutti voi, fratelli, sorelle di Roma, d’Italia, del tutto mondo, vogliamo essere una chiesa sinodali.”
CORRECT TRANSLATION: “All of you, brothers, sisters of Rome, of Italy, of the whole world, we want to be a synodal church.”
This, my friends, is Leo XIV revealing what must be understood as one of his top priorities.
In the coming days, we will learn much more, but suffice it to say that Synodality is here to stay. This, in my opinion, tells us, maybe not all, but much of what we need to know.
Stat tuned.
