Ever since the CDW Responsa ad Dubia regarding the implementation of Traditiones Cojones was made public on December 18, tradservative commentators have been at pains to shoot the messenger.
- The Rorate Caeli blog referred to the text as the “Roche Christmas Massacre.”
- A fine traditional priest friend shared a meme on social media labeling CDW Prefect, Arthur Roche, “the man who tries to undo a 1500 year old Mass.”
- Dr. Peter Kwasniewski called Roche “a heartless spiritual abuser, and a lunatic liturgist.”
- LMS President, Joseph Shaw, protested that the Responsa is an attempt to violate the canonical rights of bishops “on the say-so of the Prefect of a Vatican Congregation.” Shaw even went so far as to insist that Roche is acting contrary to “Pope Francis’ own principle: ‘diocesan bishops don’t answer to curial prefects.’”
For a pope to exercise his supreme jurisdiction over the entire Church by way of delegation through one of the Roman Congregations is nothing unusual or unseemly. As the text of the CDW’s Responsa and explanatory notes make plain, they have been issued by authority of the man widely known as “Pope Francis.”
Why then are so many so-called “traditionalists” behaving as if Arthur Roche is a free agent in this matter when, in fact, he’s nothing more than Bergoglio’s messenger boy?
I can think of but one reason.
HINT: “That Christ and His Vicar constitute one only Head is the solemn teaching of Our predecessor of immortal memory Boniface VIII in the Apostolic Letter Unam Sanctam; and his successors have never ceased to repeat the same.” (Pope Pius XII, Mystici Corporis, 40)
Evidently, those tradservatives who insist on taking aim at Jorge’s messenger realize, even if only subconsciously, that plainly acknowledging the man they call “Vicar of Christ” as the actual perpetrator of this assault on the one true Roman Rite is like declaring that Jesus Christ is attacking His own Mystical Body.
Despite so much confusion on their part, every good tradservative with even a shred of sensus Catholicus knows damned well that the very notion of Christ attacking His own Mystical Body is absolutely absurd. Placing blame squarely where it belongs, therefore, is a tacit admission that Francis is an anti-pope.
Be honest, dear reader, you know it in your bones: Jorge Bergoglio is not the Vicar of Our Lord Jesus Christ, he is the Prime Minister of the Evil One, intent on destroying all that is truly sacred. He has been making it clear from the very day he stepped out onto the loggia at St. Peter’s that he has not the Catholic faith in his heart, in fact, he despises the one true faith.
One thing we can say for Bergoglio, however, is that he is a man of conviction who does not hesitate to make manifest in both word and deed the putrid beliefs that dwell in his malformed conscience.
If only those claiming to love the faith had just as much integrity.
