Major Event at St. Peter’s Basilica

Louie, September 10, 2025September 10, 2025

Have you heard about the major event at St. Peter’s Basilica?

No, not the homo invasion that took place on Saturday as a veritable Gay Pride Parade came traipsing through the Holy Doors. I’m talking about news that Cardinal Raymond “Formal Act of Correction” Burke is slated to celebrate the Traditional Roman Rite at the main altar in St. Peter’s in October.

Ain’t Leo awesome!

One small problem: The church has been violated by the aforementioned homo invasion.

The the 1917 Code of Canon Law explains:

A church is violated only by the below-listed acts, provided they are certain, notorious, and were placed inside the church: …  3.° Impious and sordid use to which the church was put (Canon 1172 § 1, 3.°)

Does Trad, Inc. and its stable of pope resisters recognize the LGBTQ+ invasion of St. Peter’s as a matter of putting this magnificent Basilica to impious and sordid use in a manner that is certain and notorious?

One should hope so. Canon Law goes on to say about such instances:

A violated church is to be reconciled as quickly as possible according to the rites described in the approved liturgical books. (Canon 1174 § 1)

In a violated church, before it has been reconciled, it is nefarious to celebrate the divine office, to minister the Sacraments, or to bury the dead. (Canon 1173 § 1)

The 1983 conciliar Code has a similar, albeit weaker, treatment of the topic.

So, for the talking heads of Trad, Inc., I have a suggestion.

How about leveraging your access to Cardinal Burke (and other celebrity prelates for that matter) and letting him know in no uncertain terms that he has a grave obligation to reconcile St. Peter’s Basilica before he even dares to approach its High Alter.

Make it clear to him, in charity, that should he fail to do so, he will be heaping impiety upon impiety, denigrating both the Basilica and the Traditional Roman Rite for which he professes to have such high regard.

A similar dynamic holds true for the spokesmen of Trad, Inc.

Should they fail to exhaust every avenue at their disposal to press Cardinal Burke into doing what must be done in order to reconcile the sacred dignity of St. Peter’s in light of the violation that took place this past weekend, and go about applauding the upcoming TLM as if nothing happened, a reasonable person would have no choice but to conclude that they are but self-absorbed windbags who are devoted first and foremost to their own comfort and well being.
