I recently saw a video clip of mega-church pastor, John Hagee, declaring on Fox News that God “has given to the Jewish people – the descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob – their, uh, covenant with them, that they should own this land (Israel) forever.”
Where did he ever get that idea?
Well, for one, he got it from the leaders of the Zionist movement, who, on May 14, 1948, issued the Declaration on the Establishment of the State of Israel, the opening paragraph of which reads:
ERETZ-ISRAEL [(Hebrew) – the Land of Israel, Palestine] was the birthplace of the Jewish people. Here their spiritual, religious and political identity was shaped. Here they first attained to statehood, created cultural values of national and universal significance and gave to the world the eternal Book of Books.
In this, the very foundation upon which the declaration stands is set forth, making an undeniably religious claim, one that essentially asserts that Almighty God granted an irrevocable, fee simple deed to Palestine to the “Jewish people” alone.
A great many heretics, like Hagee, seem pleased to accept this proposition, one that goes hand-in-hand with an unwillingness to recognize the Holy Roman Catholic Church as the Kingdom of Christ on earth – the New Israel, “the Israel of God” (Gal. 6:16) – the same over which He reigns vicariously through the Roman Pontiff.
More germane to the present discussion, however, is the fact that there is precious little evidence that the Zionists actually believe that the land is theirs by Divine Right. In fact, all indications are that their biblical claim to Palestine has never been anything more than a tactic designed to win “Christian” (read: heretic) support for their land-grabbing cause.
Before we continue, for clarity, it is necessary to repeat what is stated in the previous post. As Pope St. Pius X explained to the Zionist Theodor Herzl when he refused to support his aims:
The Jewish religion was the foundation of our own; but it was superseded by the teachings of Christ, and we cannot concede it any further validity.
Let’s be clear: Judaism – the religion of the prophets, of Our Lady and Our Lord – is no more. Neither, therefore, are there any Jews – that is, practitioners of Judaism – properly speaking. There are only Talmudists and those who call themselves Jews, the vast majority of whom are secular leftists.
Bear this in mind as I will refrain from prefacing every mention of “Jews” with the qualifier “self-identified” moving forward.
One might object:
But what about those who can trace their lineage back to the ancient Middle East, to Judea in particular? Do they not have the right to call themselves Jews?
Indeed, the Zionists and their supporters have been laboring for years to convince the world that the vast majority of today’s Jews have genetic markers indicating that their geographic origins harken back to the Holy Land.
At one and the same time, researchers who present data suggesting otherwise (e.g., historical reference to large numbers of Jewish converts of European descent, whose ancestors never set foot in the Middle East) are “cancelled” and ridiculed like anthropologists who dare to cast doubt on the theory of evolution.
Why do the Zionists and their apologists place so much importance on the genetic claim?
Evidently, it is because the Zionists know that their religious claims, while useful in deceiving the heretics, cannot bear up under even modest scrutiny. It’s no secret, for example, that the leading movers and shakers of the Zionist movement – Theodor Herzl, David Ben-Gurion, Menachem Begin – were hardly men of deep religious conviction.
According to Gol Kalev, Chairman of the America-Israel Friendship League, writing in the Jerusalem Post in 2019 about the man largely hailed as the Father of Zionism, stated:
Herzl was certainly not a religious Jew, but just like many secular Israelis today, he was a believer and consumed religious experiences a la carte.
A consumer of religious experiences a la carte…
In other words, playing the religion card whenever doing so may prove advantageous. As such, it is no surprise that secular Israeli society today is a beehive of godless, homo-deviant, anti-life activity; it reflects the convictions of Zionism’s founders.
Despite the 1948 Declaration’s suggestion to the contrary, well-informed observers know that the Zionist vision for a modern State of Israel was never about establishing a holy nation that would stand on the religious convictions of Judaism, its citizens free to live out their covenant relationship with the one true God.
This being so, the Zionists needed a fallback claim to ownership of Eretz-Israel, and so they created one in the only slightly more credible assertion that the land is theirs by ancestry.
The declaration continues:
After being forcibly exiled from their land, the people kept faith with it throughout their Dispersion and never ceased to pray and hope for their return to it and for the restoration in it of their political freedom.
There is much here to consider.
First, “being forcibly exiled from the land” refers, in this case, to the destruction of the Temple in the year 70 A.D. This wasn’t the only time the Jews had been sent into exile, and for good reason.
According to Chabad.org (an orthodox branch of modern day “Judaism”), citing the Talmud (a collection of rabbinical writings), there are two:
Exile was necessary to cleanse the Jewish nation of [its] sins. However, punishment was not the only item on G‑ds’ agenda. There is a grander master plan behind the four exiles … [namely] in order that proselytes might join them.
NB: The casual reference to Jewish proselytism serves to undermine the claim that European self-identified Jews (aka Ashkenazi Jews) necessarily have ancestral roots in the Middle East.
More importantly, one notes that the most pressing (and biblically documented) cause of Jewish exile is the unfaithfulness of the People Israel. The divine purpose is well demonstrated in the Babylonian captivity and the destruction of Solomon’s Temple (aka the First Temple), events that took place only after the people had been repeatedly warned by the prophets to turn back to God.
While in exile, the prophets continued to exhort the people to repentance, that their zeal may be rekindled. The bitter fruit of their unfaithfulness, life in exile, served as both punishment and purification, and they were eventually allowed to return to the Holy Land where they rebuilt the Temple (aka the Second Temple) and resumed offering sacrifice as required by the Old Law.
This Second Temple was destroyed in 70 A.D., upon which time the Jews were dispersed, or in the words of the declaration, “forcibly exiled from their land.”
What led to this most recent exile?
The same that preceded their exile in the year 586 B.C. only far worse. The People Israel rejected their long-awaited Messiah, with the chief priests, the ancients and the people calling for His death on the Cross whilst declaring, “His blood be upon us and upon our children.”
So, where are the prophets now? Where is their call to return to God? Where is the purification and renewal of the stiff-necked people? Where is the new Temple with the Altar of Sacrifice?
A modern-day Jew might even ask, if, in fact, he were interested in such things:
Where is God in all of this? Has He fallen silent for nearly 2,000 years? Has He abandoned His people?
– As for the prophets of God, they speak in the words of the Apostles and their Successors.
– As for the purification and renewal of the people, these are made available as described in the call to conversion first made by St. Peter on the day of Pentecost: “Do penance and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ, for the remission of your sins.”
– As for the Temple, the Altar, and the Sacrifice, these exist in the Roman Catholic Church and the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.
– As for the whereabouts of God and His faithfulness to His people:
Let all the house of Israel know most certainly, that God hath made both Lord and Christ, this same Jesus, whom they have crucified, and lo He will be with us even to the close of the age. (See Acts 2:36, Matthew 28:20)
Few among the Jews in our day, it seems, have an interest in pondering such questions. This was equally as true of the Zionist leaders as well, despite the claims made in the opening paragraph of their Declaration.
Returning to where we left off in the Declaration:
After being forcibly exiled from their land, the people kept faith with it throughout their Dispersion…
The people kept faith with what? With Almighty God? With the Covenant?
No, the people kept faith with the land.
Notice how swiftly the Zionists present their true colors! Their cause has little to do with Divine Rights or a commitment to God, rather, it is an earthbound political endeavor whereby they are seeking reward without repentance.
In fact, the Declaration admits as much.
… [the people] never ceased to pray and hope for their return to it and for the restoration in it of their political freedom.
In their own words, the Zionists plainly admit that theirs is a political cause, their motives devoid of allegiance to the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
The Declaration goes on:
Impelled by this historic and traditional attachment, Jews strove in every successive generation to re-establish themselves in their ancient homeland.
Once again, a degree of honesty: The Zionist cause is impelled not by any religious attachment, not by matters of spiritual and religious significance, but only by the subjective force of nostalgia.
Do you find it surprising that the Zionist Declaration so plainly admits such things?
You shouldn’t.
Zionism is a diabolical operation. Satan, its mastermind, delights in mocking things holy, turning them on their head and inverting them however he might.
God’s plan of salvation has been committed to the Church to transmit via Scripture, the inspired Word of God, and Tradition. With respect to the Promised Land, for example, God set forth the conditions by which the People Israel may peacefully dwell therein:
Do my precepts, and keep my judgments, and fulfil them: that you may dwell in the land without any fear. (Lev. 25:18)
The Evil One, therefore, is compelled to do likewise in mocking fashion, publicly revealing his plan of damnation via his minions, also both orally and in writing. In the present case, he has done so by inspiring the Zionists to proclaim to all the world that Eretz-Israel is theirs regardless of any commitment to keeping the Lord’s precepts and keeping His judgments.
As for the rightful heirs of the Holy Land, God made plain their identity, saying to Abraham:
All the land which thou seest, I will give to thee, and to thy seed for ever. (Gen. 13:15)
The Zionists, to the extent that they wish to deceive the naïve by leveraging the “eternal Book of Books,” would have one believe that this refers to Abraham’s flesh and blood progeny. Though heretics like John Hagee should know better, he and his kind have overlooked the words of St. Paul.
For all are not Israelites that are of Israel. Neither are all they that are the seed of Abraham, children… That is to say, not they that are the children of the flesh are the children of God: but they that are the children of the promise are accounted for the seed (Romans 9:6-8).
And if you be Christ’s, then are you the seed of Abraham, heirs according to the promise (Gal 3:29).
Much, much more could be written on this topic, but suffice it to say that the modern State of Israel was born not of Divine decree; it is the fruit of an unholy and ongoing conquest of diabolical design.
“Lockdown” Donald of Operation Warp Speed fame recently paid homage to his Zionist taskmasters (as all in positions of political power regardless of party affiliation seem compelled to do) at the Republican Jewish Coalition Summit, vowing his undying support for Israel:
This is a fight between civilization and savagery, between decency and depravity, and between good and evil. There is no comparison between a group that worships death and a group that cherishes life.
Presumably, he is suggesting that Israel is the “group that cherishes life.” After all, they did drop pamphlets in Gaza warning the innocent of their impending annihilation. How very big of them.
He is correct, however, in saying that the present fight is between good and evil. But like so many others of a heretical bent, Trump calls himself Christian while utterly ignoring the definition of evil given to us by Christ who is the Life.
He that is not with me, is against me; and he that gathereth not with me, scattereth. He that despiseth me, despiseth Him that sent me (Luke 11:23, 10:16).
The world is descending ever more rapidly into godlessness, and the reason is plain:
The ruling class – the globalist elite, heads of state, captains of finance and industry – overwhelmingly despise Our Lord. As such, we would do well to make the Collect for this past Sunday’s Feast of Christ the King a permanent part of our daily prayers:
Almighty and everlasting God, Who in Thy beloved Son, the King of the whole world, hast willed to restore all things, mercifully grant that all the families of nations now kept apart by the wound of sin, may be brought under the sweet yoke of His rule: Who with Thee liveth and reigneth.
