In just four verses, the Holy Gospel according to St. Matthew tells us more about the Kingship of Christ than the entire papal magisterium of the last 50 years.

Another excellent video. If only catechists would dare to watch them.
‘All Authority in Heaven and on Earth has been given to Me.’ It really does need contemplating to understand the awesomeness of this . All nations should be ‘christened’ – this is what Christ wants. Christendom. There’s no getting away from it.

I once decided to ‘deepen my faith’ by doing a diocesan ‘faith’ course. Although it wasn’t very cheap and I had already paid up, I quit pretty soon because the POV was new age pyschobabble, but most appallingly some new age monk’s book was a prime text and all this monk seemed to care about was NOT calling Christ, ‘Christ the King’, but ‘Christ the prophet’. He had a perverse thesis that if we disisted in veiwing and understanding Christ as King and INSTEAD viewed him as a prophet , somehow we would be better people and the world be a better place. This is the ‘church’ we live in.
I like Louie Verrecchio’s videos so much more than those of that other outfit, not only for the uncompromising content, but also because Louie doesn’t patronize and distract us via the inclusion of cartoonish graphical gimmickry and sound effects.
salvemur, that nonsense no doubt flowed from “the prophetic Church” nonsense of Vatican II. See:

agree. if one is an adult, it’s actually quite nice to be treated like one. there’s enough gimmickry and cartoonish graphical and homiletical nonesense at mass to last a life-time.
thanks for the link – this explains exactly the POV that rejects Christ the King:
–
“They [so-called ‘prophetic priests] are allowed to do it, primarily not because they are concerned about the poor, but rather because they are filled with the illusion of recuperating a place of honour in a modern world which is now pagan – and it is so precisely because of these prophetic priests: this is a true and real cultural subjection to modernity. Behaving so, they have deceived souls, by spreading moral destruction and weakening the Faith.”
……it is very fitting…….
St. Pius V and St. Pius X, John XXIII and John Paul II
Two popes are to be canonized next Sunday, two popes closely connected with Vatican Council II, the council that launched a revolution in the Church comparable to that of 1789, according to Cardinal Suenens, and to that of 1917, according to Fr. Congar.
How can John XXIII and John Paul II join the ranks of the saints in the footsteps of their two canonized predecessors, St. Pius V, who applied the Council of Trent, and St. Pius X, who fought against Modernism?
How could we invoke John XXIII and John Paul II as the Church asks us in her divine liturgy to invoke St. Pius V: “O God, Who for the overthrow of the enemies of Thy Church and for the restoration of divine worship didst vouchsafe to choose blessed Pius as supreme Pontiff: grant that we may be defended by his patronage and so cleave to Thy service, that overcoming all the wiles of our enemies, we may rejoice in perpetual peace”? (Prayer from the Mass of May 5)
How could we seek the intercession of John XXIII and John Paul II, as the Church asks us to seek the intercession of St. Pius X: “O God, Who to safeguard Catholic faith and to restore all things in Christ, didst fill the Supreme Pontiff, St. Pius, with heavenly wisdom and apostolic fortitude: grant in Thy mercy, that by striving to fulfill his ordinances and to follow his example, we may reap eternal rewards”? (Prayer from the Mass of September 3)
St. Pius V and St. Pius X, in the glory of the Church Triumphant, pray for the Church Militant here below.

what is proposed for the 27th is a bunch of self-satisfied neo-modernists congratulating themselves on their seeming success at destroying the faith; traitors who play with truth and error as if they were toys, as if God doesn’t mind being mocked. But God is not mocked. Those who support this nonesense will find that out, sooner hopefully, rather than later.
