Conciliar Catechesis Watch: Dei Verbum – Part 4

Louie, February 17, 2026February 17, 2026

On February 4, 2026, Leo continued his so-called catechesis on the conciliar text with his fourth installment on the Constitution on Divine Revelation. This particular treatment was relatively brief, but even so, Leo was able to seize the opportunity to lend comfort to “Me and my Bible” heretics.

We’ll discuss this and more in this episode of Conciliar Catechesis Watch.

An article / transcript is provided below the video for those who prefer to read.

On Wednesday, Feb. 4th, Leo continued his catechesis on Dei Verbum, the Constitution on Divine Revelation of Vatican II.

After recapping certain points from his previous Audiences, he quoted Dei Verbum 13, saying:

As the Conciliar document reminds us, “the words of God, expressed in human language, have been made like human discourse, just as the word of the eternal Father, when He took to Himself the flesh of human weakness, was in every way made like men”

Isn’t that beautiful? No, actually, it’s not beautiful at all. It’s the kind of statement that would have been flagged immediately by any censor librorum acting in good faith, i.e., what Leo just read, word for word, from the so-called Constitution on Divine Revelation is such that no faithful bishop would ever place his imprimatur on this text. Rather, he would demand that this sentence be reworded to avoid the invitation to heresy.

Pay close attention to what the Almighty Council, and by extension, Leo the alleged Holy Roman Pontiff, is teaching: They teaching those who do not know any better that the eternal Son of God, in taking the flesh of human weakness to Himself, was “in every way made like men.”

No doubt, the error is obvious to all: Our Lord Jesus Christ is like men in every way except sin. To omit as much is to invite, if not profess, heresy.

In an effort to be thorough, I took a look at the Latin normative text, an accurate English translation of which more properly reads:

…just as the Word of the Eternal Father once took on human weakness and became like men.

This text is better, but it too is deficient by omission. That said, one notes that absent in the Latin text is the phrase “in every way.”

So, does this mean Leo gets a pass?

Absolutely not! In fact, the exact opposite is true.

Robert Prevost is an American citizen by birth. English is his first language. Far from ever teaching such a thing, he should have immediately recoiled upon reading them just as I did, and just as you did when you heard them.

The difference is, Leo is not imbued with the Catholic faith, and so statements that smack of Christological heresy evidently do not alarm him. They escape his notice, and worse, he is comfortable posing as pope and teaching them in public.

During the Bergoglian reign of terror, we noted how often Francis spoke of Jesus as the lowly, the humble, the beaten and despised man of sorrows, to the exclusion of Jesus Christ the King, risen in glory, who reigns over all men and all nations. In fact, he wagged an accusing finger at so-called Triumphalists, as if it’s somehow in poor taste to acknowledge Our Lord’s glorious victory over sin and death and His Sovereign Rights in this world.

If you ever wondered where this image of the merely human Christ is founded, now you know: In some measure, it is rooted in the Council.

Speaking of Francis, in discussing Biblical exegesis, Leo felt compelled to quote his predecessor… you know, the man that Leo assures us is looking down on the world from Heaven. He said:

As  Pope Francis reminds us, “Whenever we make the effort to return to the source and to recover the original freshness of the Gospel, new avenues arise, new paths of creativity open up, with different forms of expression, more eloquent signs and words with new meaning for today’s world”.

Get that?  Paths of creativity… new meaning for today’s world…

Leo is talking about revealed truth!

Recall, by contrast, what the Oath Against Modernism states:

I sincerely hold that the doctrine of faith was handed down to us from the apostles through the orthodox Fathers in exactly the same meaning and always in the same sense.

There’s no room in Catholic thought for Biblical exegesis that includes seeking paths of creativity that lead to new meaning.

Leo went on to say:

Scripture is intended to speak to today’s believers, to touch their present lives with their problems, to enlighten the steps to be taken and the decisions to be made. This becomes possible only when believers read and interpret the sacred texts under the guidance of the same Spirit who inspired them.

So… according to Leo, it is for ordinary believers to interpret the sacred texts for themselves, with the help of the Holy Spirit of course, in order to know what steps to take and make good life decisions…

No doubt the Protestants whole heartedly agree!

Elsewhere, Leo says:

Scripture also recalls that the Gospel, entrusted to the witness of the baptized…

How many of the baptized misappropriate the Gospels in order to promote their own godless views?

How many self-identified Christians over the years … Catholics even … have convinced themselves that their “Spirit led interpretation of God’s word” says that it’s OK to use contraceptives, to get divorced, to enter into a homosexual relationship, to have an abortion, and so … because that’s what they

In the written text of the Audience, made available on the Unholy See website, DV 12 is cited in reference to this statement.

Funny thing is, though, DV 12 doesn’t say anything like it. Not even close.

What Dei Verbum does state two articles earlier, in DV 10, is this:

The task of authentically interpreting the word of God, whether written or handed on, has been entrusted exclusively to the living teaching office of the Church, whose authority is exercised in the name of Jesus Christ.

This is one of those conciliar statements that do reflect the true faith. Such statements can be found throughout the sixteen documents, right alongside those that undermine the true faith.

In any case, Leo quoted from DV10 in his previous audience. He said of Sacred Scripture that it is:

…interpreted by the “living teaching office of the Church, whose authority is exercised in the name of Jesus Christ” (no. 10).

Not bad, not until you realize that he deliberately chose not to say – as the Council did – that the task of authentically interpreting God’s word has “been entrusted exclusively” to the Church.

Why did he leave out the Church’s exclusive ability to provide an authentic interpretation of the Scriptures? Could it be because the heretics and the Jews might have a conniption?

Whatever the reason, one thing is certain:

Neither Leo nor the Council pass on the true Faith, and we should be grateful to Our Lord for moving him to make that plain during these Wednesday Audiences.

Truly, they’re a gift from Above. Let’s be sure not to waste them. Rather, share these episodes with everyone and anyone who needs to have their eyes opened to the truth.

Until next time…
