An offer the SSPX better refuse

Louie, February 12, 2026February 12, 2026

Vatican correspondent, Diane Montagna posted (on X) “a working English translation” of a Statement issued by the Dicastery for the Destruction of the Faith following today’s meeting between its Prefect, Tucho “Mouth Healer” Fernández, and Fr. Davide Pagliarani, Superior General of the SSPX.

The statement begins by characterizing the meeting as “cordial and sincere.”

Already, we have a lie.

The Statement then reads:

After clarifying certain points presented by the FSSPX in various letters, particularly those sent between 2017 and 2019 — including, among other topics, the question of the divine will concerning the plurality of religions…

Let’s stop here for just a moment to recall Fr. Pagliarani’s first public announcement of the Society’s intent to consecrate new bishops. In his sermon of February 2 for the Feast of the Purification of the Blessed Virgin Mary, he said:

Should we still wait before thinking about consecrating bishops? We have waited, prayed, observed the evolution of things in the Church. We asked for advice. We wrote to the Holy Father to simply present the situation of the fraternity, explain its needs, and at the same time, to confirm to the Holy Father our only reason for being, which is the good of souls.

In an interview later published at SSPX.news, Fr. Pagliarani indicated that he had sent two letters to Leo, only one of which was met with a response, and this from Cardinal Fernández.

To this second letter, a reply from Rome reached us a few days ago, from Cardinal Fernández. Unfortunately, it took no account whatsoever of the proposal we put forward, and offers nothing that responds to our requests.

So, the catalyst that set in motion the Society’s public announcement of its intent to consecrate bishops, even apart from papal [sic] mandate, was the fact that the Unholy See’s reply “took no account” of the request for Leo’s approval of the episcopal consecrations.

Fr. Pagliarani’s February 2nd announcement, or so it seemed, forced the Unholy See’s hand.

On February 5, the Vatican announced a “meeting scheduled between Society of St. Pius X and Prefect of the DDF” for February 12, 2026, in Rome.

For the Society’s part, its General House issued a Communique of its own on February 5 which reads:

Following the announcement on February 2nd of future episcopal consecrations for the Society of Saint Pius X, His Eminence Cardinal Fernández wrote to the Superior General to propose a meeting in Rome. The Superior General accepted this proposal. The meeting will take place on Thursday, February 12th.

Pay very close attention to the above: What it indicates beyond all doubt is that the pretext for the meeting insofar as the SSPX understood it, thus moving them to accept the proposal, is that the meeting’s agenda will pertain directly to future episcopal consecrations for the Society of Saint Pius X.

And yet, the DDF Statement issued today indicates that Fr. Pagliarani’s interlocutor – a man evidently well versed in taking firm control of a negotiation –  has managed to shift the agenda “particularly” – that is, first and foremost – to a discussion about issues raised in correspondence dated between nine and seven years ago.

Once again, it appears that the Unholy See is taking no account of the Society’s request, i.e., they lured Fr. Pagliarani to Rome under false pretenses.

This is hardly what I would call cordiality and sincerity.

Rather, what is made clear already in the first few sentences of the DDF Statement is just how diabolically crafty and untrustworthy the leaders of the conciliar church truly are.

The Statement went on to list a series of issues that will be given particular attention in upcoming meetings (should they actually take place), none of which directly concern the consecration of bishops.

About these matters, the Statement reads:

…the Prefect proposed a pathway of specifically theological dialogue, following a precise methodology…

In other words, the DDF will condescend to explain to the SSPX why such heterodox notions as “the divine will concerning the plurality of religions” are to be understood, and accepted, as being in continuity with tradition.

The Statement does eventually get around to mentioning the very reason Fr. Pagliarani now finds himself in Rome, saying:

The Holy See reaffirmed that the ordination of bishops without the mandate of the Supreme Pontiff … would constitute a decisive rupture of ecclesial communion (schism), with serious consequences for the Fraternity as a whole…

So, there you have it. End of Act I

SYNOPSIS: The Superior General of the Society of St. Pius X was hoodwinked into a sit down with an underboss of the Conciliar Crime Family, an invitation he accepted on the naïve belief that he was going to get a fair hearing. Instead, he was met with a hardline and threatened with an offer that comes straight from the head of the syndicate, the man Fr. Pagliarani calls “Holy Father” and whose ring he has yet been granted the opportunity to kiss.

Is it an offer he can’t refuse?

No, he can refuse it, and he damned well ought to refuse it. There is no point entering into theological discussions with unmovable apostates who are hostile to the true faith. Our Lord told us what to do:

And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words: going forth out of that house or city shake off the dust from your feet. – Matthew 10:14

If I were Fr. Pagliarani’s consiglieri, my advice would be simple:

Pack your bags and get out of that demon infested place as fast as you can. Go, make the necessary arrangements for the July 1st episcopal consecrations.

More importantly, embrace the Church’s immutable ecclesiology. If you do, you will never make the mistake of seeking the approval of non-Catholics ever again.
